I don't even know anymore... #Debate2020
51 truly excellent seconds.
It's the 200th day of 2020.
So there's that.
30 years later, we remember you. #TiananmenSquareMassacre
Merry Christmas, Infosec.exchange.
You've been good to me, even if I don't post or like much. I appreciate the fediverse as it is and look forward to many more years with each of you.
May today be one you deeply enjoy.
I'm not sure what I want from breach disclosure.
As a consumer, I want to know ASAP if an account or service is compromised so I can take immediate action to protect myself.
On the other hand, if a breach happened, it's probably too late, and telling the world before the org knows what's going on could cause consumers to take actions that harm them or worse, cause the attacker to Hail Mary or burn it down.
Businesses should tell consumers about breaches, but when? And in what circumstance?
These new Alexa glasses are interesting. They completely side-stepped visual augmented reality while leaving themselves open to it in a later version.
Expensive. And I don't really use my echo, but I find this super interesting.

@m4iler after eating really well for a week, I had McD's for breakfast, a steak for lunch, and wings + beers for dinner.
I feel ya. Felt like crap for 3 days after. LOL
@m4iler awesome!!!
@m4iler how many cashews to get full specifically, or eating in general?
I like mastodon more than the other places because y'all actually reply to stuff and engage in interesting conversations.
If I were better at social media, I'd participate a lot more than one or two Saturday's a month 😂.
@spookeydookie But what if you cause 1,000 people to be better and 1 to be horrible? Does the 1,000 outweigh the 1 or does the 1 outweigh the 1,000?
@Shutsumon I guess that's the point.
I notice a lot of babies being thrown out with the bath water as a general feature of modern western society. I'm trying to think through if that's a justified position to hold or if we should be more accepting that, while we won't tolerate the destructive chaff, it doesn't (by itself) negate the beauty and goodness of the thing that triggered it.
I program for over 20 years. I just closed some tabs from yesterday:
"how to create directory in python"
"concat lists python"
"load 2 models tensorflow"
"how set pythonpath"
and some others.
And yes. I have a masters degree in informatics.
You don't need to learn things that you rarely need & are just 1 duckduckgo away by heart. Knowing that they exist and what to search for is sufficient.
Important are the thing you cannot search. Concentrate on those.
