@pyconau Is the wrong grammar/spelling in the image supposed to be Australian slang?

Just noticed that my shared bookmarks are 20 years old, started back in 2005 when del.icio.us was hot. Later migrated to Pinboard, then to self-hosted Shaarli. 17500 bookmarks tagged with 3800 tags. #webhistory

@BinaryUnit 3858 tags; more than 17k bookmarks, going back to 2005 :D

@mdione Is there an overview how it compares to PlantUML?

Some people in #Iran successfully use delta with national email providers when outside Internet is cut.

#deltachat designs are #OfflineFirst using delay tolerant protocols. Messages are queued when a path is blocked. email servers are made for this and run at planetary scale.
Messages crossing the border may arrive three days later but they arrive.

Peoples can stay in private touch across time and space, to the extent possible in current breakdown times. Which is what delta is about.

The Missing 11th of the Month - David R Hagen

On November 28th, 2012, Randall Munroe published an xkcd comic that was a calendar in which the size of each date was proportional to how often each date is referenced by its ordinal name (e.g. "October 14th") in the Google Ngrams database since 2000. Via @DProofreaders

Are there any dyslexic programmers available to offer advice on fonts?

I have poor eyesight and am currently awaiting an operation. In the meantime, I frequently zoom in and out while working, but I would like to find a better font. I experimented with OpenDyslexic (antijingoist.itch.io/opendysle), which works well on my phone for reading, but not so well in Visual Studio.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

@johnmidity Hm, I guess it really depends what works for you. Even science doesn’t seem to be so sure about these so-called dyslexic-friendly typefaces.

I’m not dyslexic, but from the “better readable than most fonts, with focus on usability” camp, I like Atkinson Hyperlegible the most.

They recently released a new version of it, that includes a monospaced variant, which should be a good fit for coding — if you like the main features of it to begin with.

@faassen Yeah, syllable counting they get totally wrong, I also noticed recently.

@nedbat I'm afraid to look into the replies 👀

Usually `assert actual == expected` for me; because it reads more naturally?

@almenal99 Hm, I agree that Python has been a bit too much "dict-typed" in the past, although I like dicts.

Judging from your profile I guess you know enough tools to work (around) common dict shortcomings. But maybe, if you state your urgent problem, we could recommend something?

@liaizon I don't get it. You see that on the pictures?

@alienghic Every dictator needs his schtick, a memorable (😒) mannerism, right? This 200 word vocabulary “eloquence” is his, and it will be studied by many future actors 😩

CSS uses a complex algorithm to decide how to animate transforms. If you get it wrong, as many folks do, you end up with an unnatural animation.

Here's how it works, and how to avoid the pitfalls.
