EDIT: The Malwarebytes article has been updated:

"After taking a closer look at Google’s documentation and reviewing other reporting, that doesn’t appear to be the case."

This confusion could've been easily avoided if Google was more clear in how they communicate with their users.

ORIGINAL:

PSA to anyone who uses Gmail!

"Reportedly, Google has recently started automatically opting users in to allow Gmail to access all private messages and attachments for training its AI models. This means your emails could be analyzed to improve Google’s AI assistants, like Smart Compose or AI-generated replies. Unless you decide to take action."

Microsoft announces a new marketing strategy for the Year of the Linux Desktop 😉 Thank you for doing this. 😂 Nobody asked for this kind of product that breaks all privacy and safety standards. So choose wisely

Signal's president claimed it takes billions to replicate the availability and reliability of "hyperscalers" (AWS/Google/Microsoft/Cloudfare) that Signal uses.

#chatmail and #deltachat are about disproving this claim by

1) making relays super cheap (DONE)

2) enabling chat profiles to use multiple relays redundantly (WIP)

3) distributing relay knowledge among chatters (TBD).

🚨 Warnings over Perplexity’s Comet Browser 🚨

AI browsers are the new hype but it doesn't mean they are safe to use 👉🏼

Security researchers from LayerX Security have revealed that the AI browser is vulnerable to CometJacking attacks, allowing hackers to hijack sessions and access user data.

For more info on why you're better off not using Comet: tuta.com/blog/perplexity-comet

Adding AI to a web browser massively increases the attack surface that hackers can use to steal your data from that browser — from your recent internet history to your saved passwords and credit card numbers — and potentially beyond, including the private data saved on your computer or phone.

Enabled by default, silent install, takes screenshots and trains MS AI by default.

It installed on my Windows 11 Professional PC 🫡 it’s also not dependent on an NPU or Copilot+
