@me Ahja und dazu kommt noch, dass die Telekom das nicht gegenüber allen Anbietern durchsetzt und das primär bei kleineren Betreibern versucht zu erzwingen. Das ist definitiv diskriminierend aus meiner Sicht.

Der Bundesdatenschutzbeauftragte hat wohl bereits letztes Jahr auch eine Unterlassungsaufforderung gegen die Telekom deswegen ausgesprochen. Die haben aber mit aufschiebener Wirkung dagegen geklagt. Ich bin wohl nicht der erste der sich darüber beschweren wollte. Ein finales Urteil kommt hoffentlich noch dieses Jahr.

Update: eine E-Mail später mit freundlichem Hinweis darauf, dass ich für die Diskussion auch gerne die Bundesnetzagentur und die Bundesdatenschutzbeauftragte hinzuziehen kann und schon wird man ohne weiteren Kommentar freigeschaltet. Ich verstehe nicht, warum das nicht direkt geht, wenn man sich freundlich und verständnisvoll bei denen meldet.

Die Telekom will gerade Stress haben und fordert ein Impressum auf meinem E-Mail Server. Ich weiß aus erster Hand, dass die das für größere Anbietet von Mail-Servern nicht durchsetzen. Hat jemand Erfahrung damit, wie ich denen klar mache, dass die meine E-Mails auch so annehmen müssen? Hat das schon mal jemand an die Bundesnetzagentur eskaliert? #plsboost

@CharlotteBuff in der Regel lässt man das immer offen. Ich müsste sonst wo hinklettern um an den Absorberhahn für meine Waschmaschine zu kommen. Moderne Maschinen haben Aquastop, die das Wasser Automatisch stoppt, wenn es ein leck gibt. Wie das bei deiner kleinen Spülmaschine ist kann ich nicht sagen

I need to be very clear, that the push towards "vibe coding" - that is, deliberately deskilling people - is because AI code assistants are an (increasingly expensive) subscription service.

If you know how to code, you can just write Python, C, Java, R, PHP, whatever for free and make things. You may not own the tools of production, but at least you're not renting them.

If you have been deskilled so you only know how to vibe code, you will be paying for that privilege forever.

This also goes, by the way, for researchers who are starting to be convinced they don't need to learn how to be scientists anymore, because "the AI" can just do the science for them. Nope.

Nichts löst bei mir so schlecht Laune aus, wie Kontakt zu allem, was das Apple Build, Signierungs- oder Distributionssystem betrifft. Warum können die nicht einfach Software wie der Rest der Welt verteilen? Warum ist es ein absoluter Sonderfall, dass jemand ne Anwendung ohne xCode oder nen Mac entwickelt/baut/signieren will. Aaaaargh.

Takeways:

* Supply-side (cost to recreate) is ~$4.15B, but demand-side (value to firms) is $8.8T. Shows massive cost savings & productivity boost from OSS.

* If OSS didn't exist, firms would need to spend an estimated 3.5 times more on software than they currently do. OSS provides a massive, often invisible, productivity boost.

* A tiny fraction of OSS developers create the vast majority of value. Only 5% of developers are responsible for over 96% of the demand-side value

* Firms should not just "free ride" on OSS but actively contribute to the ecosystem, as this is far cheaper than recreating the software themselves.
