@hankg Just spending too much time trying to guess who’s who and where they all were!

@hankg Just spending too much time trying to guess who’s who and where they all were!
@hankg On the plus side … I’ll get the next 2 days back to do something productive.

Quick bug report:
trying to reorder pinned podcasts at the top of the main list has a bug. The drag and drop appears to work, based on the cell preview, but when completed the order is neither the original order nor the one that was supposed to result from the drag and drop.
@caseyliss people over this (the slightly more politically sane) side of the pond also have no clue who Jessie & Lennie Ware are either.
Oh, the irony...
I've completed "Resonant Collinearity" - Day 8 - Advent of Code 2024 #AdventOfCode in Swift https://adventofcode.com/2024/day/8
Feels like one of my more elegant solutions, although the node finding in pt2 could probably be improved.
I've completed "Bridge Repair" - Day 7 - Advent of Code 2024 #AdventOfCode https://adventofcode.com/2024/day/7
Took an age to get the recursion right on part 1 - knew what I wanted to achieve but tied myself in knots getting it into code! But getting it right meant coding part2 took about 20 seconds.
Running it took longer, due to the exponential increase in calculations, but it worked. There must be an optimisation, but CBA to work it out 😃
@bens Thank you. I now feel slightly less unhappy with my 30s semi-brute force approach. 😀
I'm sure there must be a smarter answer...
@StewartLynch I started to doubt myself, turned off WiFi, and lo and behold… no remote on the phone!
I guess either you’re buying a new remote or you are indeed doomed!
@StewartLynch I’ve forgotten my remote before and managed to use the Apple TV on a rental WiFi from my phone. If it doesn’t use Bluetooth, how would you be able to connect to your home network on first use?
*now wonders* had we stayed there in prev years and it new the network? Hmmm.
@fmarini I did it first with regex literals… and it worked, but as usual it made my head hurt. Then tried any with the builder, and it was a **lot** nicer.
@oliver_binns Did you use the regex builder DSL or just literal regex strings? Can’t get my head around the DSL.
#adventofcode Day 3, and it’s already that time of the year where I have to learn Regex all over again.
Has anyone created a #SwiftLang leaderboard for #AdventOfCode2024 this year?
Seem to recall there was one last year.
@alemohamad Playgrounds? Brave!
Now this could be interesting. Possibly in a tearing hair out sort of way
T-4 (within acceptable error limits) Must be time to revise my Dijkstra, A* and BFS. The one month a year they are useful :)

@anthony Swift all the way. I have this notion of using the new Swift Testing framework for a TDD approach. I'm not optimistic this discipline will last long.
I'm also in the UK, and also have better things to be doing at 5am 🛌 💤
