@GossiTheDog my entire org was told we had to use AI to code or we'd fall behind. They truly think it's the future. They use it to text each other because they can't type responses themselves.

They also said AI coding was going so well that they were moving their deliverable deadlines up earlier.

They're using it as an excuse to require more work done faster. No one gets overtime.

@nixCraft My game backlog is so large that I'll never finish. If I get a new tower it will just be so that I can play old games faster. :')

But this shouldn't be a tough fix. Not receiving a response since the 24th, even a cursory "we've received your email and will follow up with you by X date", is concerning. I wonder if they monitor the accounts.

@jerry while I was getting my economics degree, I remember reviewing a journal that went over how the Israeli stock market would go up during terror attacks because they were (at the time - haven't kept up) heavily fueled by defense stocks. The market would grow because the companies would be profiting off of the response.

The point of the lesson was that markets don't correlate to happiness. Really impactful lesson for me as a young economics student.

If the market is doing well but shorting their workforce, the stock will still go up while people have to tighten their belts more. It's not a sustainable growth, IMO, and will result in increasingly worrisome societal issues even if the companies still do well.
