A web/browser security nerd. Working on security for Firefox and the web at Mozilla. Taught web security at Ruhr Uni Bochum.
I'm often spend my summer on multi-week #bikepacking trips with the family.
The posts here are my own and I do not speak for my employer
@asante nur als Zuschauer :)
@janl Doing my best to defy them. I think a few new ideas are still out there :)
@b0rk @omarieclaire congrats!
As a reminder, you can follow the general Mozilla news, team work and individual contributors work on Planet Mozilla (which has a RSS feed you can subscribe to). We have 1 to 2 blog posts per day on Planet. https://planet.mozilla.org/
Now that we have the infinite monkeys as software, could someone let them know that we don't need someone to write the complete works of Shakespeare again? We have libraries for that.
Here's a quick rundown of what we delivered as part of Interop 2025, and what's planned for Interop 2026!

Advice if you build websites: Use the W3C HTML *and* CSS validator. Not because I want to tell you that "you're bad if your HTML isn't valid", but because it'll help you find trivial bugs that can make your life hard.
Especially also use the CSS validator. I found 3 issues that made things not work as they should in recent days. I had a bug where it took me a while to figure out why it didn't work til I found some stackoverflow post, and the css validator would've told me right away.
What a week, huh?

If you're a FOSS maintainer working on standards or following them, we would love to hear from you! Please share and boost in your circles.
Last weekend, I jailbroke my Kindle following the instructions from https://kindlemodding.org/.
It was easier than I expected, and now I can sync all kinds of ebook formats to it and install additional software (e.g., an alternative reader, a Libby client or even Linux).
It made me feel like a proper hacker and inspired me to draw this comic using all the pop culture clichés there are for depicting a *real* hacker. 😄

My team is still hiring (currently interviewing). It's proving hard to find the right candidate for this role.
If you're a strong Python and JS developer, with experience in localization or even an interest on the topic, please apply. We're mainly looking for people located in Europe or Canada (East Coast), to maximize time zone overlap.

If in the EU. Try WERO and tell your bank how to make it better if you truly care about an alternative to PayPal and the Visa/Master duopoly. Don’t expect the perfect solution. Understand that alternatives are never better or perfect from the get-go but that we need to tell them through using them how to become better and better. Be a pioneer, not a follower :)
