@kainoa TBH I have no idea what I'm doing with Inkscape either, but I seem to have managed to fix it.

I can't post the fixed SVG here, but see screenshots + alt-text for very quick tutorial.

I can also post it as a PR, if you prefer. The diff isn't very useful, though...
@Houl

While in the path-editing mode (press N to enter), draw a rectangle across the whole broken section.Then click these two buttons:
1. "Delete segment between two non-endpoint nodes"
2. "Join selected nodes"

Repeat these steps for the other C. 🙃

@usako Bei mir dienen die Piephälse oft unfreiwillig als Wecker, um 5 Uhr morgens. Also vielleicht ganz gut, dass du erst ein Fenster aufmachen musst...

@weetster Pro-tip: There's tons of LGBTQ+ folks in the Fediverse and somehow like half of the trans girls and furries work in infosec.

I mean, you seem to be looking more for a professional exchange (for which you're right on ioc.exchange), but yeah, if you explore the wider Fediverse, you may be surprised by people just knocking out infosec expertise between their normal fun and banter.

#FedilabBug

For some reason, the linked "esc"-account in the post above sends me to this (NSFW) account: @AsianPalaceLV

It's supposed to send me to this account: esc@a.gup.pe

Using the latest beta build of the new Fedilab.

KDE also has a pretty cool feature for closing windows, should they ever refuse to:
Press Ctrl+Alt+Esc to get a skull cursor. Now you can click a window with that to kill it.

@packbat
And then in the last frame, you see a big magically glowing text: INTROVERT TIME

Then there's the protagonist back at their laptop, the third person is reading a book, and the partner is going after their extroverted happiness by calling someone on the phone.

2021-09-22

@packbat
The next frame has the protagonist address that third person with: "Hey, you're looking pooped, and I'm not so great, either. How about some Introvert time?"
The third person responds, a bit taken back by the inquiry, but happily: "Yeah, that'd be great."
The partner responds understandingly: "Fine with me. Reconvene in an hour?"

2021-09-22

@packbat
[For Example:]

In the sixth frame, the protagonist has a full energy bar, but they are chatting up a friend who feels different:
Protagonist: Hi!! :D
Friend: Introvert time, sorry. Talk to you later?
Protagonist: Okay! <3

[Or:]

The seventh frame shows protagonist with draining energy bar talking to their partner, who has a full energy bar, and a third person with an empty energy bar.

2021-09-22

@packbat
The fifth frame shows just a big thought bubble of the protagonist:
"I wish there's a way to say 'I love you and you're important to me but right now I need to recharge so please don't hate me for completely ignoring you while you're in the room'
Think of how helpful that'd be!"

2021-09-22

@packbat
[Or: (giving another example)]

The fourth frame shows the protagonist on their laptop and they just received two messages from persons A and B.
In their thought bubble, it shows again a depleted energy bar and the thought "Oh geez I really like A and should respond, just... no energy right now.".
The thought continues: "And I need to talk to B about plans for tomorrow but I don't want to get into anything else..."

2021-09-22

@packbat
[But sometimes I still run into problems.]

The third frame shows the protagonist playing a card game with two other people and a thought bubble with draining energy bar and the thought "Oh crap... this is my own party... and I kinda invited them to crash overnight.".

2021-09-22

@packbat
[I've gotten pretty good at leaving parties at the right time and finding ways to recharge.]

The second frame shows the protagonist closely cuddled up to presumably their partner, but they're just each individually using their laptops.

@packbat
Comic transcript:
[Being an introvert means socializing depletes my energy bar.]

The first frame shows the protagonist talking to some women about something unimportant.
In the back of they're head, they're having a thought bubble with an empty energy bar and the thought "Oh no. This no longer fun. Must make my escape.".

@arielcostas
But then there is also XWayland, which is an implementation of the X protocol on top of Wayland. Applications written for X can talk to the XWayland-X-Server, which then translates it to the Wayland protocol and talks to the Wayland compositor.

So, it's a massive compatibility layer and was a significant part of the work on Wayland.
Going forward, it will allow applications to continue working without changes, while new applications and libraries can target Wayland natively.

2021-08-09

@arielcostas
In principle, there is lots to change in applications. GUI Toolkit libraries need to implement support for Wayland, if they want to natively support it. GTK and Qt have already done that, so many applications do get it for pretty much free, but there can still be quirks.

2021-08-09

@arielcostas
The issue with Nvidia is that Nvidia wanted to create its own standard for interacting with Wayland compositors (= those that implement Wayland, i.e. desktop environments).

The rest of the Linux world had developed the "GBM" standard, then came along Nvidia with "EGLStreams", provided an implementation for GNOME and later KDE Plasma, and expected everyone else to follow suit.
Nvidia seems to be working on GBM support now, though.

@arielcostas
Wayland is a display server protocol much like "X", which has been traditionally used on Linux, macOS and BSD.

The main motivation for Wayland is that X is really old. It was initially specified in 1984, with ten major revisions following until 1987, which is when "X11" was specified.
Since then, we've basically only ever glued things on top of that standard, which has made things really convoluted.

@benrob0329 Damn, that base looks like it was a ton of work...
