In my case, I agree. I think I'll continue to have a good relationship with my old persona, so I hope to bring people along with me, easing the transition as I shed my old skin. But I'm not certain of that. A lot will change in the next few years--even in the next few months.

I underdstand this, but there are various reasons people want to either leave their old shell behind, or selectively invite people to follow them.
- For some, their old persona is a source of anxiety, even trauma.
- There may be people following them who they don't want to know about their transition, especially early on. Coming out is a highly stressful time, and everyone has to do it on their own terms.
- Others may simply want a fresh start.

There's the "prinsoner's dilemma." If a huge number of people across the country voted for local candidates outside the binary choice, things would change quickly. But because people think they'd be throwing their vote away if everyone else continued voting for the "big two," everyone keeps voting for them.

It's probably more than placebo. A woman I know said that her T-blocker pretty much eliminated her body odor. Her new scent really came in when she started E.
