Why do they still put pull quotes in articles on the web? Like I assume the purpose of them in magazines and newspaper is to catch the eye of the reader but online articles are usually single column and the pole quotes usually end up just being momentarily confusing.

Genuinely huge news from the American Psychological Association, which just voted 153-9 to pass a new policy agenda supporting transgender healthcare, actively dismantling the misinformation and lies ABOUT trans people and their healthcare needs, and calling for a complete repeal of all anti-trans bills, nationwide. It isn't federal law, but it is huge and will have a beneficial impact in a number of places in the US.

At one point as a teenager I did arrange a physical swap of “hacking” software on floppy disks in a series of posts on a BBS using coded language. Relistening to The Magnus Archives, I forgot how beautiful and devastating Daisy and Jon's friendship is. Two monsters, one leaning into it and one resisting, bonding over a shared experience in the most human ways. The way this show humanizes the monsters without ever making them less monstrous is so impressive

social media, especially the twitter type, makes dunking too easy and even seems to prefer it as the default reaction… i often wonder about the rifts in community it created when it could have just as easily built bridges or encouraged better understanding between parts of this industry.

One thing with the ADHD meds shortages going on that I never see anyone talk about is the fact that pharmacies won't tell you what they have in stock. They either just lie and say they don't have it or they say they can't discuss it. Meaning you have to drive all around town trying to get someone to fill your prescription, and that's if you're lucky enough to have a paper prescription. Otherwise you just have to hope that your pharmacy is the one that gets the meds. I hate this.
