"our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary."

Diverse employees and suppliers have fostered

"creativity and innovation in the merchandise and services that we offer,"

- Costco Board.

98% of Costco shareholders agreed with the board.👍🏿

Segregationists denied.

Segregationists are going to test each and every one of you, to see where your heart is at.

If they haven't tested you already, they will test you soon.

Do you know what you are going to say?

@Loco Seems legit. You can always fix things in a later patch.

@zeux But what about software accelerated?

We produce some of the finest memory unsafe code in the world. Big code mines just digging up beautiful buffer overflows, factories turning out world-class use after frees. I spoke to someone and he said sir, those commie Europeans want to get rid of their data races, sir, but we make the best data races. Did you know that America made 15 of the top 20 most exploitable codebases in 2000 year? We're going to be bringing that back. No more woke languages. Good honest American C.

@RickiTarr In my first job, there were more people called David than there were women. That's when I began to suspect that there might be a representation and diversity problem in tech.

I don't get why people insist on asking about AAA games on the Switch 2. It's a handheld, not the PlayStation 6.

It'd be neat if it could keep pace with the Steam Deck, though.

2025-01-10

@atomwitch Yeah, we're a ways off yet. "Soon" here probably means a couple years at least, probably more before you can throw anything the size you're used to at it. But there are people chipping away at it.

2025-01-10

@killyourfm @duckunix Oh, they absolutely could be. And even if they're not, not all leaks are bad and often the attempt to get ahead of them can make things worse.

And no one is really competing against Nintendo on handhelds so it's not like this is going to let Sony or Microsoft get the jump on them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

2025-01-10

@atomwitch It also makes me feel better about investing in SYCL. I'm hoping we can get it working on the open driver stacks before too much longer.

2025-01-09

@atomwitch That's really cool. Open APIs beating vendor lock-in nonsense is what we want to see. 😁

2025-01-09

@pzanoni @jani Great success! Now you just need to write documentation, build scripts for 5 different tool chains, and unit tests and you can push it to GitHub as a more free-software version of true.

But first, can you rewrite it in rust, please, ya'know, so it's more secure. 😝

@asonix Thanks for the recommendation. 💜

@AnAutieAtUni We do exist but, yeah, the sexism in tech is real and way too many women get pushed to the edge and eventually out.

Personally, I'm pretty dedicated to that not happening to me. I have no desire to be in management or to end up in any role where I'm writing more emails than code. My last job was heading that way fast which is why I left it. Writing code is both what I'm good at and what I love doing.

@trevordblack Shhhh 🤫 Don't tell anyone. Especially don't tell @glunardi. 😝

2024-12-08

@trevordblack Pretty good. I'm on leave right now while I recover from surgery. Looking forward to being back at it next year.

2024-12-08

@trevordblack Thanks!

How're you doing these days? Haven't talked in a long time.

2024-12-03

@dneto Thanks for taking care of that! I totally forgot about my internal MR until I saw the GitHub email.
