Glucomate

Hello! I am an app for helping people stay on top of their blood glucose.

Available on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Made by @zachsimone.

@derivadow Hey! Yeah it's come up before. Aside from not being sure Apple would allow such an app, I'm not sure how useful it would be as the phone needs to be unlocked for new readings to come in through HealthKit.

I know some people would drive with their phone unlocked and connected to CarPlay, but I imagine many don't – myself included β€“ and this could get confusing for customers and tricky from a support perspective.

The latest update to Glucomate – an app for recording and reviewing your blood glucose readings – is out now with full support for iOS 18 + watchOS 11.

- Lock Screen + Control Center Controls
- Shortcuts to add a reading
- Icons for dark + tinted modes, and support for tinted home screen widgets

@derivadow Might be an iOS beta issue! I'll keep an eye on it :)

@derivadow Can I check: is the missing header issue consistent for you? If you quit the app and reopen does it reappear?

I ask because I can't reproduce the issue. iPad mini simulator running iOS 18 here. πŸ™ƒ

@derivadow Thank you – great points!

I'll get the header fixed. As for sidebar, I agree it isn't useful in most cases but on a larger iPad I can see it being fine to "waste" some space instead of stretching out the interface. Unless I'm mistaken, in iOS 18 you can choose whether it's a sidebar or a top nav, and it remembers your preference between launches of the app?

@derivadow That's a good one, thanks! I'll get it fixed.

Is there anyone who uses Glucomate willing to jump on a beta for the next update (v1.6)? A few things have changed and I'm looking to make sure nothing's too broken before release 🫣

πŸ“² Just updated!

An update to Glucomate has just gone out that significantly improves the reliability of complications on the Apple Watch.

We're still bound by watchOS and iOS limitations, but you should find an improvement over previous versions of Glucomate. πŸ•ΊπŸ»
