When you want to fit a DIP in a footprint meant for an SOIC

A DIP chip in a socket, which has been connected to footprint on a PCB meant for a much smaller chip using a pair of ribbon cables. This makes the socket float above the board.

My presentation this coming Wednesday is about more than just getting started with the #TLS 1.3 libraries in Visual Studio! I'll be including all sorts of tips and tricks for troubleshooting.

One of the slides: Troubleshooting.

Finally got my hands on #TinyTapeout 06! I’ve been really looking forward to this, it has my RISC-V RV32EC SoC, which (assuming it works) should be much faster and more flexible than the simple SoC I had on TT04.

The pink Tiny Tapeout 06+ demo board in the centre of the photo, with the TT06 ASIC carrier board mounted on it. To the left is the QSPI PMOD which has flash and PSRAM on it that I'll use with my SoC.
The TT demo board instructions are behind the demo board, and 3 TT logo stickers are in front.
To the right is a cool colour printed PCB with the design of the TT06 ASIC on it, showing (I think) some of the metal layers - you can clearly see the mux and the layout of the tiles.

Hey!
I'm running "Custom cheap, easy and safe badges - without starting from scratch" workshops at both @crowdsupply Teardown this week and Toorcamp next week:

I've got prototype badges to play with, and we'll go through the process of customizing both the PCB design and the CircuitPython code they run

Bring a laptop and USB cable! See you there!

The encryption libraries worked in a project; however, this update lets components in the ESP-IDF such as the esp-tls and http libraries leverage the power and flexibility of #wolfSSL #wolfcrypt #TLS 1.3 #PQ and more.
