@cabel oh my is that old tvguide iconography? Lovely https://blippo.plus/depg/
@christer Fantastic. Enjoy it. 👏

@RYStorm This thing is pretty close: https://www.yololiv.com/yoloCam-s7. But... "yolocam"?
And also: vertical video? Yeesh. I would be totally down for a square sensor, but vertical is unhinged.
@RYStorm doing some research it looks like it's barely able to keep cool. So 1080p captures are sustainable (with the mk II body), but 4k will cause it to overheat.
In teardown videos there is no thermal interface at all to dissipate heat off the chips on the board. There are youtube videos where people are hacking in thermal foam and paste to try and keep it cooler.
Really frustrating that the big brands don't make a minimal camera body for webcam use cases.
@RYStorm What about overheating and that camera body? I tried out my A7 C II and it hit thermal limit in a few hours? Do you just leave it switched on all the time? For weeks?
@RYStorm is the viltrox lens here just for the bokeh?
I have hooked up my A7C II via usb, and it looks stunning. Trying to weigh getting a dedicated camera.
@ludovic I guess what I’m saying here is that: yes I agree with your for film and television shot and edited on film (in the the pre video era). But for video native shows, the dvd isos really give you the authentic experience that is somehow better than the SD upscale to BD/HD have. Insert Simpsons and Seinfeld crop controversies here.
@ludovic I find the isos have a very period quality to them. I think perhaps my oled or receiver is preserving the fields better than re-encodes (which are converted to progressive when compressed, I think). It’s nostalgic, more than I expected. I’m glad I did lossless rips. I have a Dune HD player to do all the menus. It’s great quality playback, but the menu is just passable.
@ludovic I ripped all mine to iso/bdmv and had similar failure rate.
I bet this stuff comes up in 360’s during review cycles *all the time*.
The High Table sure does create a lot of workplace-related disability. This attitude just inhibits people in accomplishing their work goals. These people are craftspersons. They work with their hands all day. It’s really counter-productive and it must be a morale killer.
@pervognsen wow. I’m only on page 4 and some truly awful stuff has already happened.
