In the context of confusing paradox, I was unsure whether to share news of a recent visitor bearing hope, but I trust y'all know how to make lemonade from lemons ππ
A lil' Pride Fairy from the future tried to lift my spirits by telling me there is hope, and then painted an inspiring picture of Pride 2030, a wonderful celebration of diversity, where community spirit is a must in overflowing, Coke sponsored, carceral centres and Ben and Jerry's branded, rainbow coloured kiosks in exercise yards sell joyous tat lovingly made by diverse labourers in sweaty little McDonalds shops in the work wings. Celebrities visit with an entourage of photographers and reporters to share joyous scenes of rehabilitation/conversion with the outside world, while every LGBTQ resident left is eligible for one free letter from a security cleared family member, each with a special edition rainbow stamp. For the whole month, solitary confinement takes place in JKR donated unisex portaloos, often where special privileges encourage diverse marriages to care staff in tactical gear, regardless of sex or gender
"Oh, Pride Fairy 2030, thank you," I said, "But what of those not lucky enough to be #LGBTQ? Their lives matter, too." "Don't worry about them," they told me. "They are Christian. All of them. No soul gets left behind"
The moral of the tale? There are several. But how about 'corporate sponsored tolerance months will be all that's left if we aren't fucking careful'
It started with a riot and may end without another
Love ya ππ
