i feel you. most people who sign up, unfortunately, come and go. mastodon's privacy first, no-scrapping, no-algorithm policy makes it rather hard to use for casuals. the discoverability is poor, search is bad, and the community isn't relatively huge. plus, yeah, hip-hop isn't a particularly popular topic.

but i have definitely met a lot of music heads, and cool people in general, on here. it takes a lot more effort, though -- using and digging through relevant hashtags, boosts, comments, etc.

sorry it's been a lackluster experience for ya. i appreciate your content but understand. i spend about $300 a year to maintain the servers/domain and sometimes it doesn't feel worth it.
