I'm putting a response to an Engagement survey from my local council and its mushroomed into a fedi proposal. It's too long and rambling now. I'd really appreciate some feedback, if you can spare the time.

Update on Rushmire Hill

The road closure currently remains in place until 4th July. As we get closer to the completion of the works, we will confirm and communicate the exact date and time for the road reopening.

With the piling works now fully complete, we’ve made great progress on the remaining elements of the scheme.
Topsoil has been added along the sheet pile line to bring the verge up to the required level. A few remaining areas
still need to be completed, and this will be done towards the end of the project.
The construction of the new carriageway along the sheet piles line has progressed well and is now prepared for
surfacing. On the opposite side of the road, we are also reconstructing the existing pavement, rebuilding it in lay-
ers in preparation for the final surfacing.
In addition, we’ve begun installing ground monitoring equipment. Following this, we will move on to the final stag-
es of the scheme, which include installing a post and rail fence along the sheet piled wall and completing road
markings once surfacing is finished.
The road closure currently remains in place until 4th July. As we get closer to the completion of the works, we will
confirm and communicate the exact date and time for the road reopening.

An interesting little a tool, for Android, to manage collaborative documents based on the #Etherpad or #CryptPad technology.

@r_alb Yep, I wasn't really expecting it to have much effect tbh. Sort of like switching off features on MS software only to get re-enabled with the next update.

@r_alb I've opted out and they agreed by return. I wonder if they have actually refused anyone?

Nesrine Malik on Gaza

"Why now, after 19 months of relentless assault that was plain for all to see, and declared by Israeli authorities themselves, has the tide begun to shift on Gaza?"

@GrapheneOS My take on this is that the user thinks very highly of GrapheneOS and probably not a first time user. They are deeply frustrated that the install process cannot happen without sighted assistance.

That's it.

Nobody outside of GrapheneOS can appreciate the licencing implications for the organisation permitting software using a different licensing scheme into their core OS. They clearly have business reasons for this and the impact maybe profound.

It's also clear GrapheneOS have made some effort to cajole software vendors to adapt and have investigated potential solutions.

With this publicity hopefully some software vendor will be able to bridge the gap. Once this happens there is clearly a willingness to implement a proven and viable solution.

Keep talking everyone!

@Em0nM4stodon I used to use ProTx back in the day. They were definitely a UK operation. I parted ways with them. The were taken over by Sage (UK Co.). It was rebranded SagePay. Don't know what happened to them after that.

@therainingmonkey I did try this outfit with Cryptpad (their flagship platform). But I failed. Mainly due to lack of training getting the users started. My fault. It's a steep learning curve for newbies. Self-hosted may well be lighter than Nextcloud. I'm beginning to wonder if this might be worth another shot. It's 2Gb RAM and 2 cores. https://cryptpad.org/

But, seriously, wow! That's so useful, thank-you.
