@evan my wife introduced me to premium jeans and there are some which are stretchy and soft almost to the point of feeling like sweatpants.
That being said I treat them specially because I'd wear them out so quickly...

@dollarbin probably. My kids are old enough (but definitely not having kids anytime soon)...
The fact that Tony Hawk has a grand-kid makes me feel so old that I could have a ...
WAIT A MINUTE.
Just saw that LV2 audio plugins (used kn #Zynthian and elsewhere) manifests uses #RDF, in the Turtle format.
Yes RDF from the #SemanticWeb #semweb
How cool and crazy is that!? A real use of RDF in the wild!
Dear Canadian and Indian ex-coworkers of mine - what are some common colloquial phrases you might have used at work that I, as an American, would have been unfamiliar with?
I'm thinking like "Tickety-boo", "Bob's your uncle", "Do the needful", etc...
#AmericanEnglish #IndianEnglish #CanadianEnglish #BritishEnglish
I done gone and got myself the #muni throwback hoodie.
I have watched this RTO mess in the tech world, somewhat from the outside.. And what is clear to me is that many tech executives are clueless about what their employees do, and what motivates them.
How did these executives get to where they are?
Rational thinking???
Seems like bluesky is getting a lot of interest recently, for reasons I don't get...
But is it really "open" in the sense of not just an open protocol but also lack of a walled garden? Is their concept of data portability, identity portability, open APIs, etc the same as what you might see for Mastodon?
I'm struggling to understand why people are going to Bluesky with *zero* network, instead of Mastodon...
Fill me in on my blind spots, if you don't mind!
Oops, didn't win him over.
@kaibae I mean, everything in moderation, right?
😆
@hannu_ikonen Its interesting seeing how well (or not) the community moderation is working there.
I'm not sure if I should be downvoting or ignoring the trolls... They don't really bother me (I mean, I used to hang out on IRC) - but they can really ruin it in sufficient numbers relative to real community members...
To my friends who are despairing about the election, the /r/punk subreddit is having a moment.
LA, where you celebrate the Dodgers win by sitting in huge traffic jams. LOL.
Specifically on his most recent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu6RidujRbM) , he calls out that he likes to engage with people that don't agree with him 100%, but that the birdie site (X) is full of people who are, ya know, sad and actually seem to love fascism (to the extent they are actually not just bots).
I don't agree with Ray 100%, and I'm no longer a city nerd, I'd like to think that I'm exactly the person who would productively engage in discourse with him on social media.
I just discovered that https://mstdn.social/@nerd4cities is on Mastodon, and he just complained how he doesn't get engagement on these platforms.
That's so sad. Lets fix that.
I swear the Javascript ecosystem is a terrible mess and the only way it remotely holds together is through heroics of the open source community.
For example: https://github.com/babel/babel/blob/main/packages/babel-compat-data/data/plugins.json
@mcc There's some new "class" content which is intriguing.
I was looking at Adam Neely's music-related Nebula-specific content, for example... looked pretty good!
Pour one out for the cgi builtin lib though...
Haven't been this excited for a python dor release in a while... The REPL is sooo much better and the first concrete step towards a GIL-less CPython.

Way better than sneaker net and pigeon net!
