You can be pretty sure that McCarthy forced Santos to step down from committees not based on what we already know, but on what he knows we’re going to find out.

Remember, there remain unresolved questions about what McCarthy knew, and when he knew it. The Santos campaign commissioned a paper that revealed much of this and caused several staffers to quit, and we know it went at least to close allies of McCarthy.

Santos steps down from committee assignments among revelations some of his listed big donors don’t exist.

Bragg knows the stakes here and if he's convening a Grand Jury, he's likely planning to move forward.

A lot of the details are difficult to make out b/c of the multiple videos and angles. But something to look for is whether any of the 5 are notably less involved in the beating. That's b/c they might be candidates to plead and cooperate.
