@mrdalesmith I don't think it's something He'd get hung up on.
Writer, consumer, mal viveur.
@mrdalesmith I don't think it's something He'd get hung up on.
@mrdalesmith Jesus.
Just finished Sunshine and Laughter @cheeseford's exemplary study of Morecambe & Wise, a fresh, and quietly corrective, retelling of their well-worn narrative full of details you'll get nowhere else. A book written with love and diligence by a writer who knows British entertainment history deeply from jazz through to Viz.
As a bonus, if you wade through the "pointless padding" at the back where the author shows their working out and proves they're honest you'll see my name twice. Recommended.♥️♥️
@mrdalesmith It certainly wasn't nice out.
@mrdalesmith I think I was there at the time. The whole train carriage was mortified.
@mrdalesmith Accidentally boosted this. Normally modesty would forbear...
@mrdalesmith @nwhyte If you can make self indulgence entertaining I think you're winning!
@mrdalesmith Nice review here, Mr Dale. https://fromtheheartofeurope.eu/the-greatest-show-in-the-galaxy-by-dale-smith-and-stephen-wyatt/

They're back.
@mrdalesmith @cooraysmith He'll whang on about renaissance drama. I'm half tempted to do Masque to stop him doing it there too.
@mrdalesmith @obversebooks You can't get enough of problematic bent faces.
@mrdalesmith No. There's one new series one that interests me but I'd want to see if the author would talk to me first (and I should rewatch it). I think unless I have something very particular to me to say I should leave it to someone else. I briefly thought there might be a lot about early TV in The Giggle which might suit, but there wasn't and there's much more that would benefit from not being discussed by a stale pale oldster.
@mrdalesmith Already in preparation. I've chatted to the author about how reliable Tosh's recollections may be.
@mrdalesmith More opinions? Silence in the Library? Where will it end?
Friends fear he has featured on an album again. #WhatTheFuukIsGoingOn #TDOTD
Sudden realisation. Some of you out there will have your Margaret Attwood shelved next to your Tony Attwood and I don't know what to make of that.
@mrdalesmith I think there was a coded call to action concealed in Blake's 7: Afterlife.
@mrdalesmith I was at the Fan Aid North convention in Leeds in 1985. Attwood was one of the guests and seemed very proud of his Thatcher work on this. I, an unworldly 17 year old, found that faintly embarrassing.
Is none of my internet safe from opinions on Turlough and the Earthlink Dilemma?
I've just been followed by someone trying to flog me product on Bluesky and have waltzed back here craving some less commercial social engagement. I in no way resemble a husband coming home very late from work with a guilty look on his face.
