@siracusa Should I pick this up for you? :)

@lexfri This was in Dallas right? I rode the elevator with him and you that year. You just got a new iPhone. Haha

@caseyliss Have you ever considered a diy NAS? With your interest in the Raspberry Pi it would seem a TrueNAS/Unraid/HexOS could be fun.

@Moltz “oddly muffled” is the exact perfect way to describe that.

@paul I love them too. I have a quite a few but switched over to the Sandisk Extreme Pros and now I have to replace those because of the issues those have. I am liking the Crucial X10 Pros.

@ANC_Historian Have you seen this before? Just picked it up at Goodwill.

2025-02-05

@ANC_Historian I guess the Sundowner Drive-in was right behind it, more info here: anchoragememories.com/winter-t

@ANC_Historian Was it called the Sundowner Theatre at some point? My old boss said she saw Kiss perform there. This FB post has more info: facebook.com/share/15gwZWCRRi/

@ANC_Historian Thank you! Just ordered that book!

@ANC_Historian Is there much published on the effects of war on the Japanese people in Alaska? My great great grandfather James Minano was a Japanese whaler who was rounded up and sent to a Seattle Internment camp where he eventually died in 1945.

@antonymble @quinn That is mainly just so you have a semi accurate quote. They will call with an exact amount when they receive the item for you to pay. Most vendors I’ve contacted have let me know the size and dimensions via email. Carlyle’s costs are not outlandish either so I’ve shipped things without quoting and never been surprised by an amount.

@quinn MyConnect from Carlyle is great and super easy to use: carlile.biz/ship-to-alaska/

@gruber I was at a USPS parcel pickup location yesterday and the guy ahead of me was trying to get a package and the worker wasn’t able to locate it based off of his address. The worker asked for a slip and the guy showed him the scam text message. The worker had to explain it to him it was a scam. The worker said he was the 6th person this week to do it.
