I had been open minded about communism based solely on the merits of these devs, and despite never finding a satisfying answer to the question of communism being a thinly masked idealistic authoritarian dystopia. I read some of Marx as a result of these guys and agree with much of it. I certainly hate capitalism and the USA is a terrible dystopia too, especially right now as it appears to slip into authoritarianism. Still I will take the US clown show of maybe becoming authoritarianism over some pig on a farm that is clearly authoritarian while calling himself more equal than other equals.

You made it abundantly clear that creating content that builds value on Lemmy empowers authoritarian ideologues. As one of the few people here creating and promoting original unique content, I am doing a disservice to all to support this place and person.

I posted in good faith and received no message or reply only an authoritarian monster with no substantive depth. Thank you for showing me the true adolescent depth with a lack of ethics and morality here. While this incident may seem minor, I strongly believe in the broad strokes of inference and abstractive correlation where this isolated vector greatly informs my broader speculation and expectations. US is not supporting Russia, but Iran is. Israel is atrocious and it would not surprise me at all if they absolutely know about Oct 7th well in advance. It was the result if their prejudice and Palestinian concentration camps before Oct 7th in either case that caused the initial attack. However it was not entirely without cause like with Russia in Ukraine. Everywhere is complicated. The USA is super polarized and in pretty bad shape, but it us not exporting suicide bombers. Is it better to target with 10 million dollar munitions remotely no, but those are not targeting crowds of people as the primary goal

It was the change in Syria and the mountain on the boarder that Israel now controls that changed the geopolitical situation and strategy. The radar shadow of that mountain was what prevented Israel from having an opportunity to stop or influence Iran’s nuclear policy. Some deeper depth geopolitical youtubers have done uploads on this change and implications. The position will likely end up back in Syrian hands eventually… or it might. Again like I have said elsewhere, I don’t support Israel or their escalations but Iran is shit. If my neighbor is talking about shooting up a school, and no one I report them to seems to change the situation, and I see them loading up the car to go shoot up the school, I’m not going to feel bad about shooting my neighbor then and there, if I have no other option. I don’t like 47 at all, but taking aim at a nuclear program in a State that exports hate and has expansionist tendencies seems like a no brainer move anyone should do. Yup. I worked a terribly hazardous job that will work you to death at asphalt plants for a couple of years and absolutely only did it for six figure pay in California. Worst people I have ever worked around. Most were dumber than the rocks in aggregate but they always show up, are great at driving in circles, and gossiping far worse than a group of little girls.

I’m physically disabled in social isolation where this is my only external human contact. I tried to share the abstract learning curve on the path I have taken from asking the same questions to finding more useful information. How should I engage with others so that I never have moments like this where I regret my only method of human interaction?

I’ve never engaged on stack overflow, only used whatever thing I’ve skimmed.

Not as of a year or so back. I’m not sure how it works but there are several settings available in the manufacturer’s app that are not in Linux. Only the hotkey settings from the fn+ function keys work. Dmesg spits out a block of unrecognized memory that is something like 8 or 16 bits long that is the likely culprit. There is some odd microcontroller on a serial bus that is unrecognized too IIRC but that I have never seen before like any of the thousands found on LCSC. Last time I checked linux-hardware.org, it looked like no one had solved this one on any of the scans. I’m not motivated to chase it down myself. Poking some registers or watching for the changed location after using the built in hotkey would be peripherally interesting as a general thing to know.

How does one find an unknown register in hardware for a similar but undocumented setting? My laptop has an undocumented microcontroller for the RGB keyboard. I can change it through the extra function keys but only to a 3 level preset and not the real fine tuned control. I can dual boot and change the setting with their app and it is persistent. If I could discover all registers their app uses I would totally ditch w11 and free up a good bit of space. I figure it is just a block of memory somewhere, (thinking like Arduino stuff), but I am clueless about how to find that at OS level complexity… If anyone here casually knows at a conversational social level here, like don’t go looking it up for me or whatnot
