Researchers from @UniSouthDenmark@twitter.com have found that #Bats produce death metal “growls” to make social calls. See the findings in the @PLOSBiology@twitter.com Research Highlight: https://plos.io/3OywuiP
This Thursday, 6-7pm CET (12-1 EST), we will be welcoming Lisa Gilbert & Jeremiah McCall @gamingthepast in the Games & History lecture series.
As someone who is convinced of the potential of games for teaching history in schools & universities, I am a great admirer of their work, publications & teaching attitudes.
This session is going to be a blast. Everyone is welcome!

I just absolutely love the blend of traditional instruments with contemporary beats and the thick bass
Had an opportunity today to talk about Goya's «Aquelarre» (a Witches' Sabbat painting) in my Chinese-Spanish movie club. All of this because the movie was about homoeroticism... So I drew up for them the whole cultural connection between feminists, lesbians, witches, and Satan. What a fun Sunday~
@kerim I've always felt the Formosan dog is kinda underappreciated here, what do you think?

@educawanico This is one of my favorite temples in Taiwan! Did you notice the cartoon characters hidden in the artwork? I wrote a whole post about it here... https://spectralcodex.com/lukang-yuqu-temple/

An interesting deviation from the norm at this temple on Kinmen’s southeastern tip. Rather than the usual two guard lions flanking the temple’s main doors, the spot usually reserved for the female lion is occupied instead by an elephant.
It rains more in Taipei than in Seattle, the world’s most famous rainy city! I checked.
Seattle usually gets about 40in of rain a year; Taipei gets AT LEAST double that.
Before you correct me with stats about the annual number of rainy days, I think you’ll find Taipei “wins” (loses?) in that respect too.
Went to one of the best ramen places I've tried in Taiwan. It's in Xindian, near Bitan. The day was fresh and bright. The soup was deep and nostalgic.
