@druid The word 'pontbren' struck me as familiar – pont(bren) (or pompren) yr ysgwydd is the word for the collarbone. Only came across that recently. :)

I know I'm the minority, but:
- I don't like being at loud events and parties
- I hate being at orgies or excessively kinky/sexy events (because I'm uncomfortable being naked with strangers)
- I don't drink or intend to use drugs
- I don't like drag (but I respect what they do)
- and I don't like making straights uncomfortable and activism.

It's uncomfortable to see almost everything pride being one or more of those. Sucks being left out from "inclusivity".

Nothing has been more important to my being queer than when I went to my first Pride parade, got seperated from my group, had a panic attack about it, and was sitting on the side of the road holding a tiny genderfluid flag and freaking out. Then this six-foot-five drag queen in four-inch heels appeared from literally nowhere and sat down next to me. I, this scared-shitless trans bi kid at Pride for the first time, very nervously told her she looked pretty and I told her my name and that I got lost and didn't feel like I should be at Pride, and she held my hand and said, “Oh, honey, everybody deserves to be here, especially you. Pride is for everybody who's ever gotten lost, who's been scared of who they are or where they are. You think we never been scared before? Pride's for you, honey, because you're scared. You don't have to be proud right now, but you're gonna be one day, honey, I'm sure of it.”

I found my group soon after that, and I never saw that queen again, but to this day, I am convinced I met an angel.

So yeah. Pride is for you. Pride is for all of us.

OK, 4 posts. I discovered this little den people had made. I felt I had to take a picture of it, partly because I thought it was cute and partly because it irritated me it was dangling with plastic shit people could have chosen not to bring.

I felt all arty doing this one over the tree trunk. I loved how the bluebells were even growing out of the moss covering the roots of the tree that had been unearthed.
And the second one is the side of the wood where it meets one of the neighbouring feels, and the view beyond.

Something that always astounds me about going around woods like this at this time of year, is how much it reminds me of TES IV: Oblivion.
When you walked around a woodland in that game, the game designers made it feel inexplicably authentic. I wanted there to be incidental music, and a tooltip to appear whenever I looked at something I could interact with.

I haven't done alt-text for them because if I did, they'd largely sound the same. Suffice to say, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, it's *almost* too warm, there is dappled shade and a carpet of beautiful deep blue, almost purple, bluebells.

To get to the wood, however, we walked through a field that had dandelions and lady's-smock growing in it (first image).

I recently discovered the website https://CommandingHands.co.uk/

It is in development, but it's so exciting to see something entirely free that aims to promote the use, teaching, resources for and profile of British Sign Language.

The website should be fully up and running by the middle of this year. 👍

Genuinely excited to see how this develops 🙂

@dcal_ucl Do you happen to know of any resources out there - books, websites, that describe BSL linguistically, from micro to macro level, in nitty-gritty detail?
I love resources like that for spoken languages but I've always struggled to find things for BSL.

It feels like spring has finally sprung. Aren't hellebores lovely?
