Okay so, there's something important to keep in mind when talking about email, and that is
that it hates the living [1].

The specs are bonkers. The implementations are worse. There's legacy cruft dating back to
the dawn of computing, poorly conceived additions, and enough ambiguities, omissions,
contradictions and mistakes that a "correct implementation" is no longer possible.
Even the name of the "simple mail transfer protocol" seems akin to the beautiful song of
the sirens, luring many a programmer in with thoughts like, "this doesn't seem so bad" or
"I'll just not deal with the really bonkers bits", before leading them to what is perhaps
not a watery grave, but a fate certainly wet with tears, or perhaps one in which they
throw away their computers and go to live as hermits in the woods.
Those who remain, steadfastly pursuing the sisyphean task of "parsing emails", are either
akin to monks, having embraced Postel's Law as their gospel, just absolute madlads, or
possibly both. And those who find themselves in the unenviable position of needing to get
something out of an email, would do well to go where the monks are.
This is all to say, I do not wish to parse emails. More than any other feature, I needed a
programming language that already had one of these rare, modern-day sisyphes. Thankfully,
