Thank you for your reply. I know that this is a whole other topic but it is a shame that otherwise perfectly functioning devices are made obsolete due to lack of firmware/software. We should start thinking long term, globally. We only have one Earth and should not waste the resources. Plus I simply don't have the money for a new phone every other couple years. So I can as well stick with Calyx...

Nicht alltagstauglich für mich. Postmarket fehlen Kamera, GPS und Audio. UBTouch würde gehen aber ich brauche manche Apps aus dem Androiduniversum. Sailfish kostet, gibt es nicht für FP4 AFAIk. UBTouch wäre nur konsequent. Aber dann hätte ich keine Fahrkarte mehr z.B., weil mein Jobticket nur digital kommt.

Stark verzögerte Sicherheitsupdates, offiziell nur A14, microG standardmäßig aktiv und eindeutige ID wird an deren Server übermittelt. Das optimale ROM gibt es halt nicht für FP.

Genau das, verzögerte Auslieferung der Sicherheitsupdates. Aber ich denke mal besser als keine Updates mehr ist das allemal. Wird dann wohl meine Beschäftigung für das Wochenende.

Na toll. Divest wird nicht mehr maintained, Calyx pausiert. Das nächstbeste ist dann iode, was auch nur suboptimal ist. Schade, dass mein FP4 nun kein vernünftiges ROM mehr bekommt. Muss ich doch mal schauen, ob es günstig irgendwo gebrauchte Pixels gibt. Danke für den unermüdlichen Einsatz, Herr Kuketz!

@rhelune I feel you. I traveled in a S-Bahn yesterday for approx. 50 mins. and there was an Indian family yelling at each other constantly while chewing chewing gum in a very loud way. It is their way to talk, alright. Nonetheless it bothered me a lot and when I got off the train, my head felt like it'd explode any time. Next time I really should bring my NC headphones again. My plan was to read though.

This is unpopular opinion, but for Firefox to live, Mozilla, as it currently operates, needs to die.

They forgot their core user base hates cloud and AI features. They want a simple browser that connects to web servers and displays pages. Meanwhile, executive are getting fat salaries and bounces while begging users for money on AI and other privacy intrusion projects like adding perplexity directly to Firefox. They lost their vision long time ago.

My guess really is that the lack of a good, stable clock is our issue here. Also with the DECT handover between nodes. Nodes are slightly out of sync. Thank you very much for pointing this out! Something to work with next week. My boss won't be happy to hear that though :D Means to redo our clock system, which was a pain to install already. I really appreciate the support.

You are onto something here. We recently had issues with the DECT system, too due to clock issues. That together with a rather not so competent ISP could explain our fax issues. Now I have something to investigate. Thank you so much! BTW we use external Meinberg boxes for the clock but without GPS, just the internal clock of the boxes... The people who service our systems often seem not to know what they are doing, either.
