Having a glass of wine, enjoying revision last compos, and you know what? I don't miss being there. Do I miss meeting some people? Yes, of course. But the overwhelming experience of being around so many people, enduring 3 days of constant loud noise and random stuff invading my personal space is something I don't see myself doing again. Is this a sign of getting old? Or just a shift in personality? Who knows... Whoever is reading this and is enjoying themselves, keep at it! I envy you, but not that much. :)

Have you had that "Upcoming price change for your Microsoft 365 subscription" email yet? They want to charge you an extra 50%ish for AI features, and they do *not* make it easy to find the way to turn it off. It took me minutes of searching - this is a particularly evil dark pattern.

"Switch plan" just lets you pick between annual and monthly billing. You want "Turn off recurring billing" and then "Current subscription without AI".

I also remember the backlash after the organizers discovered that we namedvoted amongst ourselves in order to get some money for gas and tolls to go back :) and there were some very harsh words on some spanish scene forum, I forget which one... anyway, we didn't get any prize money ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@april yeah, after working 17 years in one place, they decided I didn't have the right qualifications and had to take a master's degree out of a hat. then I taught at a university for 2 years, where after that period they wanted me to pull a phd out of some place. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Reaching out into the fediverse for some job offers...

I'm currently searching for some freelance work as a musician, music producer, composer, video editor or content creation. Proficient with Reaper, Davinci Resolve, but other DAWs or video editors as well.

I've been working with media software for almost 30 years and after 2 decades of working as a teacher I find myself academically underqualified to keep those positions, so until that changes I will accept any freelance work that make good use of my skills.
