I started playing Star Wars Outlaws last night and it's pretty close to what I've been wanting.
As amazing as Atomfall, God of War, and nobody wants to Die are (the last 3 games I played), not one of them grabbed my attention where I get fully engrossed and play continuously for hours (with them all I would take random hour long breaks and watch shorts before going back to it). And its been such a long time since I've had to force myself to stop playing a game because it's 3am (it was actually my headphones battery dieing that forced me to stop).
I was a little worried going in after seeing some of the reviews, but steam's "Very Positive" rating has been closer to my experience.
TL;DR: I'm really enjoying Star Wars Outlaws
The city was exceptionally beautiful tonight, not too sure why, maybe it was the lighting, or I'm in a different head space, but everything was just so pretty and seemed like it was new and fresh to me.

So the USB over CAT6 hasn't been working out, the voltage drop was just too much and it wasn't able to maintain the phones charge while the screen was on. So I changed plans, I ordered the smallest USB buck converter I could find. After soldering on an RJ45 connector it works well and is able to pull much more amperage.
It barely fits in the box, I really wanted a direct USB-C buck converter but I couldn't find a single one, so have to continue to use the A to C adapter. I wanted to heat shrink it but I didn't have any large enough, thought about electrical tape, but the thought of the residue gave me nightmares, so went with good ol' Kapton tape, works well and looks good, and bonus that I can see the LED through it. The other end of the cable is nothing special, just grabbed a 12v 2A wall wart I had laying around and used one of those 2.5 barrel adapters.
There are actually a lot of really good games on my list to play, but I'm really in the mood for an FPS, which filters my list down a lot, and the ones remaining are really just "Some other genre that also happens to have FPS elements" which aren't doing it for me.
Dammit, finished Atomfall last night, it was great, even went back to various previous save points to check out some of the different endings, but now I can't find a new game I want to play, it's that damn "how am I ever going to top this game" problem after playing a good game.
How the F did I miss this?
I'm so pumped.
YouTube is doing that thing again where my entire recommended feed are videos I've already seen from 6mo to 2 years ago, not a single new video.
Hmm, so very early initial impressions are: not a flop, but gameplay is mid, but story is good
Will look forward to some bigger reviews, pending those this may be my next game after atomfall, but will probably let it cook and let most of the bugs be patched.
I'm so pumped..... not for the game, but to see the reviews, it's been a very suspicious couple of weeks for this game, MindsEye, no reviewers were given early access to it, and execs at the company leaving. So it is either going to be amazing, or a huge dramatic flop.
Ok, problem solved, kind of, with a tiny 2mm disk to push the wireless charger out a bit.
Also found that the magnets in this case suck, so I added an additional metal ring to help it attach, but that will probably fall off. I think I need to find a better case.
So, the case for my old phone arrived, and I may have forgotten to factor in the camera bump.... and it won't attach to my wall mount.
I have a couple of options:
I went with the last option for now, since I could do it today, and ideally I would do option 1, but on first search I couldn't find any cases that matched the criteria, so not sure, will probably just not deal with it.
This looks awesome, instantly added to my wishlist.
Although it is a cross medium franchise game, so I will remain skeptical, but so far looks good.
Barely got any sleep last night because my dumb smoke detector kept beeping 3 times every min. I initially tried to cover it, which didn't really help that much at all, and finally broke at 5am where I had to learn how the whole damn interconnect system worked to make sure I would set off the building's fire alarm if I unplugged it. Turns out there isn't any active communication, so it was safe to unplug, which I did, and then passed out solid for 5 hours.
I think the smoke is starting to mess with smoke detectors, I had mine give some warning beeps a couple of times, and the FD has been pretty busy, I even see a building down the street is going off right now.
This is fine 🙃
And this is indoor air quality, can't imagine what it's like outside. I've never seen my airgradient this angry before.
Getting power there was also a limiting factor, and the main reason I haven't dealt with it until now.
The issue is that I only have a single ethernet cable run there, but it needs to power both the camera and phone. The camera is only 10/100 so I have had the idea of making a splitter for some time, but I gave in and bought a pre-made one on Amazon. I also have to make some very sketchy USB to RJ45 cables, but they also do the trick nicely.
(These aren't great pictures, but they do the job)
