@Joecopho Second time for me! Both were February trips!

Took me 2 hours to get there, as they had SR56 closed due to flooding!

@MattPalmer When the waterflow works out is is one of the best in the park!

@pascalschmid Thank you! I do think that is an interesting contrast - a lot going on in the scene between the recess cave, sandy foreground, waterfall, and the trees on the one side.

@l_inadapte Thank you! It is a great scene overall between the recess cave, the sand, the trees, the waterfall.

One of my favorite spots to visit when the waterflow is high enough!

@geoff_eg Thanks! They don't often have this kind of flow, but they were roaring on the morning of this photo!

I'm a sucker for waterfalls still...

with one from Ash Cave, a waterfall located in one of my more frequently visited areas.

These falls are pretty dependent on season and weather and I made the trip down because I knew we'd had a lot of rain in the preceding 24 hours, in fact it was still raining when I was there!

It did not disappoint.

A waterfall at Ash Cave, a large recessed cave. The waterfall is high flow as it drops off the nearly 100' drop with a soft, misty shrouded trees off to the right and a sandy foreground.

@Joecopho Thank you! FUnny how I hiked in crazy early, crazy fast to get to a specific spot and then this random view on the hike back out is my favorite from that morning out!

Layers upon layers in the Superstition Mountains for

I had headed out in the pre-dawn hours to photograph the Three Sisters in the Superstitions, and while it was fun, I really didn't have a cooperative sky, but I got this on the hike back out as the sun worked its magic across the ridgelines.

A black and white image of a prominent ridge in the foreground with other ridgelines fading off into the distance. The image works from darker layers in front to brighter layers in the back.

@chrismcolvin Thank you! I was lucky to get just the hint of sunrise color at the horizon!

I don't put many man-made objects in my photos, much less something like a lighthouse. I made an exception for Marblehead Lighthouse along Lake Erie.

This was taken on a bitterly cold January morning with the wind whipping in against the shoreline from the lake.

A lighthouse along the shore at sunrise. Pre-sunrise blue tones are prominent with the first warm light just starting to show in the distant clouds.
