Plant Magic is a queer artist residency program led by British sculptor and garden designer Rowland Byass. This edition has been curated as a duo with the performer Simon Raven, who has been focusing for years on what both called EXTINCTION ACCEPTANCE, an ironic proposal from the most critical humor about the ecological disaster. Last Saturday, October 12, we presented the final works in a festive evening that included projections, performances, an exhibition of sculptural and pictorial pieces.

@JayMX In my city we have lot of figures of Virgin Marys with different names, gestures, dresses and of course golden crowns... This element itself seems interesting to me, the way of using circles, spirals, stars, arrows... and the effect of a crowned figure like that... then I have this love and fear for insects and especially spiders.I read of various species, where the males to attract their partners in courtship rituals use a kind of fans on their heads with shapes and colors....

These days I have been digitizing old video materials, taking a trip back in time... This is a story about family revenge in the background of a fascist women's prison. A colorful melodrama that I filmed a long time ago in the middle of a school with a fairly conservative ideology...It was called "a large and free anchovy", a joke from an old fascist slogan. #unagrandeylibreanchoa

Dealing with my TPT. A year and a half ago I changed my life drastically. I've been working to leave some bad relationships and behaviours behind and I'm happy and thankful for having so many good people around, helping me. Some of my projects for this 2025 I see that it will need patience and more time. I'm accepting I'm doing what I can with the tools I have now and trying not to be so self demanding. Some days are better than others...
