Si ce n'est pas du a cette politique, a quoi est-ce du?

Andrew Ng a professor at Stanford who taught machine learning to people like Sam Altman of Open AI and who also co-founded Google Brain has called bullshit on AI doomerism.
Ng states that the idea that artificial intelligence could lead to the extinction of humanity is a lie being spread by big tech in the hope of triggering heavy regulation that would shut down competition in the AI market.
Crippling Open Source models is one outcome of this effort that’s succeeding.
@UlrichJunker it is one of the most cited paper in LLM nowadays. I agree it is a good read.
I am not sure that everyone gets that RLHF is a form of supervised learning.
RLHF does not work without human labels (preferences) nor human curated training samples.

A great read, similar to advice I often give students.
@TaliaRinger I read https://types.pl/about and I don't see any mention about defense related activities being reason to be banned.
It looks like your ban was arbitrary. This sucks.

A feature I really like about Mastadon is a billionaire hasn’t force fed me content from nutjobs and I can actually see the people I follow.

Posted because I kept seeing this quote posted with the names filed off, so I did a quick google search to find the original so I could share it with full attribution.
I'm getting super-spammed with retoots and faves, so I don't need any more.
@jsrailton I'm impressed by how many comments assume this is genuine.
@Cmastication what makes you think that it is not just you living in a single simulation? How can you tell the difference with what you claim?
I am not claiming anything new, philosophers have been wondering about this for ages.
With a great team mate, Bertrand, I just won the last Kaggle competition. I'll share the link to our solution when it is published.
I'm really happy.
@Chip_Unicorn did you go to Vallon Des Auffes? I like it too, an dmaybe it was close enought to Vieux Port.
@Chip_Unicorn How long did you stay? I lived in Marselle and nearby it (Carry-le Rouet) for a while.
What place did you like the most? Mine is Les Goudes.
Some last thoughts on Marseille, before we leave.
Come for the food. We have had marvelous meals here. Don't expect normal French cuisine, though. Just order the seafood, and you'll be fine.
Marseille is separate from France in the same way that Miami is separate from the US. It's a Mediterranean city that speaks French. Eli says that it's like New Orleans.
Holy $#!% there's a lot of graffiti. And everyone has tattoos. Even the newscasters.
Don't go if you're racist. You will be miserable here. The locals are about 30% African. (And they have the best restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream.) Spend time in the Noailles (North African) neighborhood.
If you can, learn French before you go.
