@atpfm Also, if for some reason the WallDog drywall anchors were to fail, which I think has only happened once in 10 years, they basically leave you with a hole perfectly sized for many other types of drywall anchors. @marcoarment

@atpfm feedback on drywall anchors. I am a massive fan of Hillman "WallDog" drywall anchor screws. I can't think of a time that they have failed me and they are basically a normal screw with extra wide threads. They work equally well in studs as drywall, which is nice for consistency. Strongly recommended. #askatp https://www.amazon.com/Powers-Fastening-Innovations-02316-Wall-Dog/dp/B00ITG648O
TIL if you have your iPhone plugged into your Mac and you do an AirDrop transfer, it can actually use the wired connection, so for iPhone 15 Pro/Max if you use a really good USB-C cable, you can transfer several gigabytes over AirDrop really quickly. Just used this to transfer some videos from the Blackmagic Cam app. WireDrop? 😅
JFYI in case you haven't seen it already and think you might be going crazy not being able to sign in / refresh, there is a massive outage impacting #facebook, #instagram, and more right now
It is weird, some games on iOS seem to work better when my phone is in power saver mode because it makes it more consistent. Seems like without it, things will go back and forth with thermal throttling.
You either die a hero, or you live long enough that someone installs linux on you, because you no longer get security updates from the manufacturer.
I want the world to know I spent time automating something AND it took less time than it would have by hand.
I have a pressing work project deadline, which has lead me to:
- bake a dessert
- clean and reorganize random things
- replace my router and accidentally change the ip address of all of my devices (this did cause me to have to update a config file related to the project I should be doing)
Scientists talk a lot about the speed of light in a vacuum, but I don’t hear much about the speed of sound in a vacuum.
@atpfm @caseyliss in these call sheet pricing discussions, I keep thinking what about a one time payment that grants like 200 searches or something like that? Then after that you have to subscribe for more.
I let my kid borrow my steamdeck and they managed to buy 3 games and spend $200 in in app purchases in an hour. Trying to dispute the charges. What fun.
@malwaretech I’m interested in an invite.
What do you get when you cross a Swedish fish and Swedish fish?
A red herring. 🐟

@atlauren Those are two different things. :-) BBEdit can certainly read and write files in the binary property list format. However, modifying a preferences plist without using the `defaults` command is a recipe for disaster.
As someone who answers people’s questions on a regular basis as part of my job and expertise, one of the more interesting measures of a good student is the velocity at which their questions become harder to answer and demonstrate that they have been learning a lot without you in between each question.
