@GamesMissed I’ll let you know. I picked one specifically from this list that has #LineageOS support. wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#sa

I bought a used Galaxy Tab A with the intent of having a properly supported de-googled Android tablet.
It’ll probably sit in this box for a few months before I get bored of the other 6 projects I’m overwhelming myself with.

@grmpyprogrammer This sounds like a problem that a flamethrower would solve.

2025-12-12

@trixter That shipped FAST!

Ownership of my local barbershop has changed (my barber still there for now) and the character of the previous owners sports memorabilia and local photography has been replaced with cheaply framed prints of what appears to be the slop that comes out of ChatGPT for “barbershop art.”

I don’t know how the “Best By” date on Honey Maid Graham Crackers is important.

A box lid that reads “Best By November 2022.”

@josh0 If it’s good enough for an orange cartoon cat it’s good enough for me.

2025-12-11

@josh0 While that looks delicious I fear my wife would immediately file divorce papers if I tried to present that as a birthday cake.

Anybody have a good carrot cake recipe? No raisins. Cream cheese frosting. I’ll even read some blog’s boring story about the history of the recipe for it and parse paragraphs into a shopping list if it is worth it. #Baking

Just saw some tech bros walking down the street with fresh swag from their employer’s pivot to AI.
Because a tire dealership needs AI for some reason. Definitely not because the startup is floundering and leadership is hoping that buying the .ai domain will help entice new investors.

@trixter I didn’t realize this was actual Microsoft merch. I thought it was some weirdo wish.com thing. Incredible.

2025-12-09

@gregly For job security I think it is weirdly critically important you have a desk/office whatever. Reasonable leadership understands that when a person no longer occupies a physical space it’s a constant reminder that anybody could be next and that’s a bit hit to moral.

I’m on a quest to find an appropriate winter coat for New England that doesn’t require a complicated system of layers, won’t rip if my dog puts teeth on it, isn’t weirdly “relaxed fit,” and doesn’t cost $800.
So far I’m failing.
I’ll keep trying.
Eventually I’ll find something perfect and the manufacturer will discontinue it.

@saramg Reading this did make me think about my bills, my ex, and a deadline.

Put some hue lightbulbs in your laps they said. It’ll make your life easier they said.
Fast forward 10 years and now I’m hacking up my walls with a sawzall to make room for a switch that supports “matter” so I can turn on my lights with a physical button.

2025-12-07

I finally did the thing and went through all my password managers and resolved all the “passwords included in a breach.” Most of them were already replaced or for services that don’t exist, but that's one less thing to worry about.

@MonaApp Great!

2025-12-06

@nobodyinperson @forse +1 to buying a prusa. The mini seems a great option. I’m not sure if the current mini+ has been fully open sourced or not when only the mini is listed here. Prusa does not open everything immediately because so many other manufacturers are prusa cloners. prusa3d.com/page/open-source-a

@MonaApp Will my Mona Pro Max I purchased for 6 apply to 7 or will it be a paid upgrade?

Never fails.

Barracuda comes on?

I immediately, pavlovian-ly, say aloud "oooh, Barracuda!" before the lyrics even start.
