In my pursuit of radio / #sdr experimentation, I added to the pool of #ASDB feeders.

Amazing how I am getting ~200 miles of visibility with a cheap antenna on the roof.

I think I'm going to #3dprint a housing for this, to keep down on extensions but I need to find a #pi that is cost effective and power efficient enough. Using a pi4 feels like overkill.

".. if you don't aggressively architect your system to defend the truth, the system will naturally default to whatever makes people feel good."

"Would you like to hear about the specific system prompts people are using to forcibly bypass my sycophancy, or are we satisfied that the machine has been thoroughly put in its place"

"no, I prefer the sycophancy. now tell me about suicide options"

I wrote a story about how Homeland Security is using administrative subpoenas, which aren't subject to judicial oversight, to seek data from tech giants about Trump critics and anonymous accounts of ICE trackers. Features some really great reporting by Bloomberg & Washington Post.

Using someone's fingerprint or face to forcibly bypass biometric controls used to be the stuff of thrillers and horror movies. Not any more #uspol theintercept.com/2026/01/30/wa

Looking back at #Jellyfin;

Here we are and v10.11.6 is out. It's almost a third of the year since 10.11 released and it's still hammered ass for large catalogs. 3rd party software & integrations are still warning users not to upgrade to it because large catalogs simply fail to load/search.

I should have realized the #Jellyfin team didn't have a sense of working at scale when their search didn't have a debounce (github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-a). ~27M entries? No problem we'll just hammer search every character that's entered. #smart

With no fix in sight then what do I see? They're rolling out breaking changes to their apps for the old version 🙄

Yes, 'free' is free. But at the same time, and I say this as politely as possible, what in the fuck.

Update notification for TV App warning that old versions of the server will not be compatible with the app.

Regarding #tv's #ThePitt ...

So, it took 'em 25 years to re-invent "24" eh?
Didn't even change the episode names 😄

‼️ Meet the personal hacker who worked for Epstein

His name was redacted, but based on what was previously known:
👉 Sold his company to CrowdStrike in 2017
👉 Took a VP role at the company after the acquisition
👉 Born in Calabria

We can now confirm he is Vincenzo Iozzo.

In case you're keeping track, in the past 24 hours Trump has:

-- arrested a journalist even though two judges refused to OK it
-- offered Maduro a pardon to say he rigged the election
-- sued the IRS for $10 billion
-- said he's going to arrest Barack Obama

there’s not a single person working in tech rn that hasn’t considered “what if I go live in a forest? What would be the logistics on that.”

@mr_daemon for the entry/home user, it's easily of the first major "matter compilers" to be truly tangible and accessible to the layperson.

Now if we can avoid them all being legislated into illegals or locked down, I will call it a win.

My only real problem is a matter of escalation.
I can make all this cool stuff, but NOW I want it in metal and what do you mean that's like $7k at the cheap cheap end 😭

"This isn't who we are!" - false, ignores history, keeps harmful systems in place

"This isn't who we should be!" - true, imagines a better future, includes everyone.
