I'll preface this by saying I am not familiar with #NathanFielder's work. I never watched "Nathan For You" and "The Curse" intrigues me but I think it's more drama less.. this.

That said I watched Season 1 of "the #rehearsal" last year and have been rescheduled awaiting the next season. Now I'm a couple episodes into Season 2 and constantly blown away.

I constantly find myself going "no, no. That would be be insane!" only for the reveal to hit and he's actually gone 20 times further and nobody's the wiser.

I'm torn if it's all exactly as he presents everything, e.g. if they're lying about what's being shown or what they conducted. However, I think the entire premise relies on the viewer trusting and believing what Nathan, even if that means being a alright unreliable narrator to build the suspense/story. So, if something came out that all the narration was lies, the show would be DOA.

All that said; I'm constantly in awe. If you're all about "brainless entertainment" it's probably not your cup of tea but give it two if three episodes and see in the insanity lures you in.

25% of season 2 is yet to air and I'm starting to suspect that he has secretly built an entire 1:1 clone of #Houston's #Hobby airport and nobody has known they've been landing in the wrong place for 20 years and being whisked back to the real one in secret every flight.

Just ignore the weird guy wandering the terminal with his laptop, he's harmless.

Discovery: The "copilot" bot user that Microsoft will soon be flooding your github repos with garbage content from is implemented in some sort of special way that exempts it from the "block" feature you would normally be able to block other users/bots with

Paging the #hardware design and repair folks; I have a piece of 00's production hardware. In it is a surface mount (#SMT), horizontally-laid out (versus an encoded with a large shaft) aligned rotary dial encoder that has a 'click' feature.

As is the case with many old components it is failing. I have found the manufacturer of this specific component, panasonic series EVQWK, however the particular encoder was discontinued a decade ago.

I have checked mouser and digikey, but I don't seem to find any place where I can order a replacement. If I should it would be a direct solder replacement.

As the package is very specific, are there any repair/replacement suggestions? Or advice where I might find a #discontinued part?

I love that Mr. "Art of the Deal" has responded with ~"If someone offers you a free jet, you take the jet. Duh."

Any kid that's been introduced to the concept of "Clean your room and you can have a cookie" deal knows better. If you take the cookie, they're going to expect you to clean your room.

Don't get me wrong; Everyone knows it was ghostwritten, but still, what a fucking idiot.

#3dprinting update;
I'm super happy with my build. Unfortunately the upgrade path looks like it's going to force me into #Klipper which has never actually been good to me.

My build currently:

  • Ender5 chassis
  • #BTT #Octopus mainboard
  • Modded #Endorphin-- Meaning: Linear Rail conversion-- Partial CoreXY kinematics
  • #microswiss direct drive
  • Volcano hot end + 60w heater
  • 0.6mm #Diamondback volcano nozzle
  • MSDD modded heat break / mount
  • Hydra-based cooling solution
  • Dual independent Z-screws
  • BLTouch
  • Mains powered bed heater
  • Octopi

Like many before and similar to myself the Ender platform served as a wonderful platform to build and tinker on. As far as I can find, particularly with my custom work for the Volcano, this is a unique build. I looked at the traditional volcano options but I did not like the #klemco mount options nor the traditional volcano heat break. I was concerned about heat creep but I've seen no signs of it even when printing PC.

At this point I'm looking into the #Eddy bed level sensor, but it's klipper only. Otherwise there's almost nothing I can want from my printer that it cannot do. Multi-material would be nice but there's no good way to do it and MMS' are so damn wasteful. More print volume would be handy but that means changing a lot and I've got spare 235x bed plates for days. The Eddy makes bed leveling super fast and accurate, leagues beyond what a probe based sensor can do. But it also means being unable to come back to Marlin and lose a bit of print volume to the Eddy sensor. So I guess I'll see, if something comes along to convince me to suffer through Klipper's headaches.

This is fine dog meme format. A cartoon dog in a little hat sits on a chair at a table with a coffee cup. The room is on fire and full of smoke. The dog is wearing a pin that says "I voted." The dog is saying "They can't do this it's illegal."

@wildrikku Generally cheapest hairspray you can find is the best for this as they'll all be PVA-based. Anything with PVA is great for a bed adhesion spray and you'll find lots of the bed glues are just that, PVA (also, cheap gluesticks, also PVA). It's an old, cheap hack.

My printer has reached a usable state of functionality again. I

Everyone rags on #Marlin, but it's been good to me. Unlike #Klipper, I can consistently make it do what I want.

Last time I tried Klipper, it couldn't handle my movement system and so even homing was problematic.

But now I can print at 300mm/Sec and not overrun the hot end, so time to break things and try #klipper again. I guess.
