@cks Nice, starting the flow via ProxyCommand, I hadn't considered that.
My situ was a bit different, more around a web-based deployment tool needing an ephemeral SSH key tied to the user driving the deploy. Not bulletproof, but Good Enough (perhaps)
@cks I've previously bodged something together with Dex and Step CA to issue SSH certificates from OIDC tokens. Ugly but useful for some situations.
