@johnweeks Eeesh. It was just a comment. It's not I'm trashing the place. I'm here. I'm trying to see how it works.
I founded TPM.

So I've been looking into moving from one instance to another. But it looks like when you do this your older messages stay at the old instance?
if this is common it will fall apart pretty fast https://mastodon.online/@craiggerber/109299306860019014
@joshtpm It took 7 hours for your post to appear on my timeline because we are on different mastodon servers. This is not the best lifeboat for the bird site.
@craiggerber Huh if that's common that's certainly going to kill it.
You're a popular guy Josh. 😊
The irony is that Trump, perhaps as much as anyone, would have a field day with the Air DeSantis stunt. Not because it's mean obviously. But just because it was a goof. A fail. Had to cancel his plan. Somehow couldn't find migrants in FL. Mostly just weird. Ripe for mockery.
@jonstahl Totally. The open internet is the best example. But while I think that's true in general in this case it seems sluggish. And I'm wondering if the growth will stall out because the UE just isn't what people have been led to expect from Twitter and other platforms.
It's weird. CounterSocial has much more nimble servers, response time, but Mastodon seems to be the one that's pulling people over. Of course the latter cld be driving the former. But I have some skepticism whether a a decentralized framework can handle a rush of new people.
@oppositeofzero i'm sure it's legit. but i was leery of authorizing a site into either account which is a total unknown.
@sarahposner I've tried ways to refind the people I follow. I have't found a broadly automated way yet.
Wow, I have 2,500 followers here. Not pushing that as some huge accomplishment (i have like 380k on twitter). more a measure of theres a non-trivial number of people in the political news/interested space setting up shop here.
Greetings, fellow normal people.
@Gargron I’m just checking out mastodon. Does mastodon have a way to sustain the costs if there is a significant migration from Twitter? If there’s a good article on this you can point me to I don’t expect you to give me a whole answer here but I’m curious.
just seeing what’s up here.
