The boundaries between reality and virtuality are disappearing, and I firmly believe we will be living dynamically on the XR continuum in the future. But being able to individualise our reality will forever change what it means to experience something together. Understanding and modelling what happens between users in XR will keep me busy for the foreseeable future...

@richardgomer I can confirm it can be a challenge. For several years, I thought our first year and third year required HCI courses, in a department that is otherwise quite traditional compsci. I am deeply saddened to hear that Fred Brooks has passed away. Known for software engineering, his book "The Mythical Man Month" is still so relevant today. But he was also a pioneer in VR, and when I met him in 2017, he was so keen to share his work beyond the man month.

Two dimensions to consider when thinking about peer review - Open/Confidential and Signed/Anonymous. I think confidential review, in the context of rapid scaling up in our community, has led to fragmentation and lack of shared ideals. Open review, signed or anonymous, would help our community develop some common ground we are sorely missing. As for signed/anonymous reviewing, I've seen bad behaviour in both! Jury is still out for me on that front...
