I love how fucking useful this feature is.

Yorkshire. Engineering manageress, data platform engineering. Bits of cricket, football, whatever.

@molly0xfff @beep mate, Cuddy is barely in his grave at Small Gods. Too soon.
I finally got round to writing tests for `three` today. It took me 10 hours, I'm at less than 50% coverage, and I'm starting to wonder if I really care.
Testing innit
@dramypsyd this made me laugh, and then a switch flipped in my head, and I had the mental image of someone at their kitchen window bellowing "stop shitting in the garden, nan", as I localised the original toot into South Yorkshire English
Now I'm in stitches
My vm platform (`threes` - 'cause threes a cloud) is now useful.

This is some little container that just returns `hello world`, running on some cheapo NUC from the loft, via the three commands described here: https://gist.fatlads.lol/jspc/d4988e2f9116429b82ad8a4a160bca6e
There's still a lot to do, and the thing has exactly 0 tests. But it's cool to see it all come together
For goodness sake England.
Sod it. I figured it out:

Has anybody got, like, a good getting started, 0-100 guide for Anubis?
The docs are exhaustive and well written, but I have no idea where to start. I pretty much just want to start the thing and let it do its thing. I can tune it later as I get to understand it.
@sophie my friends had geocities, but my family couldn't afford Internet back then.
I know that's not the question, but if your friend had someone whose family was skint it would be instantly more realistic.
@samir 2 slides
Or 99999 slides
-1 slides
0x1a slides
Beer slides
1/0 slides
@samir at the very least, this is your opening joke
@samir you need to write the feedback from everyone first, then write the workshop to match them.
threes, my vm platform, can now create networks (actually tailscale tags and auth keys), start a KVM domain, assign an IP address from its IPAM via its DHCP server, and then serve up some additional config and metadata via an API.
Next step is to understand the capacity of the host, and then to cluster with other threes hosts to distribute workloads.
From there.... dunno, it's done really. Start clustering up all my old machines around the house and.... do stuff?
I dunno, I never really think these things through as far as using them
@tealeg it was a corker of a test match. Bring on the ashes
fucking hell #cricket
Enjoyed that
@tealeg I've been bitten a lot over the last couple of days by saying stuff confidently, but... Root and Stokes in the middle....
If anyone can finish it for England it's them
THE COLLAPSE IS ON
Fucking hell #cricket
@dysfun I always think of that Manic Street Preachers song "if you tolerate this, then your namespace will be next"
