Trying out #Cursor the IDE with integrated AI features. It's next level. Suggests commands in terminal, can run, read output, see what's wrong, implement fixes to code, retry command, summarize what happened. All in a couple of seconds.

@trisha_gee while I understand why this exists. It breeds racism. I'd rather try to invest in the neigbourhoods where people have it hard, than literally look at the color of someone's skin or their genitals to set a price for a product.

@mikolasan ha, you're a couple of levels above my tech skills in this area. I have a pi that doesn't boot. My solution was to write 'broken' on it with a marker, put it in a drawer and hope it will magically fixed itself in a couple of years

@CodingItWrong my mental model is that it's a bunch of mirrors reflecting on each other, that you shine alight on. And on the other side the light forms a picture.

If you move the light around you get different pictures/shapes. The mirrors have been tweaked to have nice pictures for many positions. But also often work for other positions.

For me it is obvious that there can be no introspection. The mirrors nor the light can 'reflect' on how it's reflecting.

Not sure that helps, but who knows

I think this is where Fediverse needs to go, and I've given it some thought. A "fediverse id" (by default as today) that can be used as a point of auth to any fediverse-service.

It's something Bluesky solved very neatly and we should strive to copy it.

@scottjenson why would I need another device, besides my phone, to have a local assistant that can connect to the cloud? It sounds like an app, or are some hardware capabilities required my phone can't handle?

@pseudoramble I've been having fun singing in a karaoke app (Smule) last couple of weeks. It's creative in a totally different way as writing/coding.
