@yatil agree, thanks for your reply.
@yatil Haven't really looked into this, but curious about your concerns?
Styling HTML form controls is something web designers & developers have wanted for years!
My team is working on a solution — you’ll apply `appearance: base` and switch to a new interoperable, consistent controls with easy to override default CSS. They inherit much more of what you already have going on. And then you can override (even more of) those styles using new pseudo-elements.

How real folks outside our tech bubble use the web:
😮 Some have connection speeds as low as 20 Mbps
😮 Most use the same modem for 5-10 years
😮 Avg person replaces their computer every 5.6 years
😮 11% use browser versions that are up to 5 years old

Using Lighthouse really just gives you a rough idea if your website is accessible / fast…
You can get 100 points there and your site is probably still too slow / inaccessible.
»Overlays, or any other tools which do not ensure the website itself meets the detailed criteria of the standard, are not an appropriate solution. It is best to fix accessibility issues at their source.«

Which HTML element are you?
I always had great hopes for the future of the world and humanity, but these days it's getting harder and harder to think positive.
The sheer scale of the problems we face – it's overwhelming.
I find myself wondering, is there still a path forward, a reason to hold onto that hope?

@westbrook @davatron5000 thought the irony of my reply was clear 😀
@davatron5000 I always said just show a loading spinner for 1 minute until all the JavaScript is ready. Much better user experience.

Not sure how it happened, but I just published a blog post: https://justmarkup.com/notes/2025-01-13-not-sharing-gifs/
The first in a very long time.
@matuzo meant to write, 'written out zero' :-)
I did read thousands, but haven't written any. Why? Tired, no time, no idea what to write, having to remember my setup…
@matuzo Did 0, read zero, last year :-)
If I get at least one out this year, I would already be happy.
