@WarnerCrocker I have an ancient apple watch and haven't had any issues but I'm not on watchOS 11 with it. Mine might be too old to get updates anymore.
@WarnerCrocker Not sure which watch exactly he has but my partner was having similar problems. He turned off a lot of background processes and the smart charging where it doesn't charge all the way to 100%. That didn't help at first so he did a hard power cycle on the watch and his phone and now it's behaving normally. Not sure exactly which step actually is the fix!
It was crazy, he'd lose like 30% in the morning & end up getting a low battery alert by dinner.
I'm trying to do better to manage the ways my body hoards physical stress responses (getting shingles will do that to you) but the more I think about it/try to take deep breaths, stretch, etc., the more I feel MORE stressed lol
@JillsJoy I do the "original hem" method where you trim but then sew the original hem back on so it still looks like a normal jeans hem with the wear marks and yellow threading. It's more complicated (and that's how I broke a needle - sewing over doubled up jeans hems is really hard and you have to go very slow or even manually crank the machine instead of using the pedal) but looks way better.
Getting decent at hemming jeans now, even if I did break a needle today.

Just love that our executives drop a dime on a fancy new office space to make themselves feel important, and then make everyone work in-office more frequently to justify it.
I really am enjoying my job these days as I get better and faster at building reports and dashboards and as my customer insights project picks up steam.
But I just found out my company is being really shitty about remote work (even though we already have a handful of remote workers) which means if we leave Chicago like we hope to in 3-5 years, I'll have to get a new job.
And people are starting to suspect that when we move to our new office space next year we might not be "hybrid" anymore
@meganhadley Elston is such a crapshoot. In the mornings I usually take mke, because the folks milling around outside the migrant shelter on Elston are often in the bike lane and unwilling to move, and mke isn't too bad in the mornings. Then I take Elston home in the evenings because riding through wicker park at rush hour is just too terrifying.
@kite For me it makes sense because people on my block already use a group chat to coordinate our block party, alert people to stuff happening on the block, ask questions, share hand me downs and free stuff. Not all neighbors may feel comfortable with people having their phone numbers, so YMMV.
@kite WhatsApp now has "Communities". You can invite ppl to the community and then have different channels/chats within it. I think there are settings for whether you want to let anyone create a new channel or only admins.
I am thinking about setting one up for my block; my company uses it to coordinate communication when onsite for a conference we host and it's pretty useful. Biggest challenge is getting people to put their name in their profile so it's not just a bunch of phone numbers.
It's not actually the year 2025 but I was having a hard time getting an edit to go through.
In my defense, my 2025 fiscal year at work starts in 25 days! It's on the brain.
