I live in a rural deep red county in a deep red state. Recently a small local Hispanic church invited people from other local churches. They said they wanted support from the local community as many of their members are scared.

I went. In fact, so many people showed up that guests by far outnumbered regulars.

This has never happened here before.

Religious or not, red state or blue state, there are people everywhere that care. Even in the deepest of red places.

Nice to see so many people out at the #TransMarch this evening.

@enobacon @TheOverheadWire @jef @bikenite it actually feels like the vector diagrams and profiles are the kind of things my boys like. They probably would enjoy looking at the MUTCD as well but if all of that were in a kids book format with kids book language is nirvana territory. I mean I bet that book would be an instant bestseller actually.

Some background: I told my boys last year posted limits don’t always align with street/lane width & zones of egress—design elements which hide hazards & lower risk allowing motorists to drive faster. It was an insight which surprised my boys and peaked their interest.

Looking for recommendations: My son will be nine in a few days/weeks and he’s expressed interest in learning more about road design speed which is kinda awesome bc he rarely shows interest in this kind of thing. @TheOverheadWire @enobacon @jef @bikenite
