From another angle, it looks like the top tank (there's a top and a bottom tank) detonated first, which would make sense because that's the methane tank; the bottom tank is oxygen.

Soooo, essentially the front fell off.

She brought him along, but he was picked up about 5 trees down from where he was released - only 2 days earlier (and treated with sugar during that time, cause that's basically what they live off, tree sap, in the 3 months they actually live above ground).

We also spotted a couple 10m up in a tree.

And a month ago we saw one flying in the Hardwald south-west of Heidelberg. That was impressive!

Strongly protected, "Hirschkäfer" - this was in context of nature education, so our guide had permission for us to handle him. Was released directly afterwards into a nice oak tree.
