@Nazani @KamalaHarrisWin Can't risk disrupting the "big beautiful parade"
@jardo Ahhh. You forgot to --skip-silverlight
@jamesthomson Yup. "Pay the toll or get nothing at all."
And that also doesn't include the "Apple Developer Program"...
Or all the shenanigans around app store approvals...and...and...
I'll get the pitchforks!
@jamesthomson its always interesting to me that so many game devs are cool with Steam's 30% cut, but Apple's 30% cut is egregious.
Perhaps its that Steam can actually help drive sales to your game, whereas the App Store is just kinda there and never really drives sales to your app 🤔
Probably also has to do with there being no alternative to the app store for iOS, whereas people can install games on their computer outside of Steam.
I think I just convinced myself why Apple's sucks...
@jacqueline move slow and break everything
@vanillaweb just watch out for those nasty stacking stacking context changes...

@fletch did you see how menacingly that camera looked at that cop? definitely had it coming... /s
@nande "are we great yet??"
I see we're deliberately shooting the press when their back is turned.
@Kowfm The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers

The IRS Tax Filing Software TurboTax Is Trying to Kill Just Got Open Sourced
The IRS open sourced much of its incredibly popular Direct File software as the future of the free tax filing program is at risk of being killed by Intuit’s lobbyists and Donald Trump’s megabill. Meanwhile, several top developers who worked on the software have left the government and joined a project to explore the “future of tax filing” in the private sector.
@b0rk @jakelazaroff service workers allow offline caching so if it's a docs site and someone doesn't have internet, or spotty internet, they can still access you're site if they've been there before 🤷♂️
@jamie "I'm tired of being legally obligated to give a shit about my employees."
@westbrook being totally isolated from the impact of their decisions is so infuriating.
Of course there is the flip side of this which is opening the door to bribery...but we have that already...thanks citizens united.
I don't know if I can watch this #Knicks game by myself. Also, a little story about the last game:
I didn't have my glasses when we were out to watch the last Knicks game at our local place, and the person next to me laughed that I kept taking my phone out to zoom in on the score. So then he just started telling me the score every few minutes. True ally.
He also gave me a really solid optometrist recommendation. Young ones, this is what you can expect going to a bar when you're 40ish.
Also yeah I'm manually reposting this from my Bluesky account I am too lazy to maybe ever setup a cross posting thing.
Personally, I think Congress should not get free health insurance unless they meet the same countable asset limit and income limit as people who receive Medicaid in their state. Seems fair to me.
In my state:
Single:
$1,304 / month
$4,000 asset limit
Married:
$1,763 / month
$6,000 asset limit
This just in:
People shocked as venture capital backed company with good product/service that was operated unsustainably and at a loss to draw in users enshittifies as backers scramble for return on investment.
“I’m shocked”, says one user of the product/service. “I know this exact thing has happened every other time without fail, but I thought this time would be different.”
