Another normal one coming up for Melbourne. Take care, folks. And, if you can, put out a dish of water in a shady spot for the birds.

The background is a sickly, yellowish off-white. The icon to summarise the weather has thin, yellow-brown stripes of bushfire smoke.
Current temperature 17°C.
Feels like 17.9°C.
Minimum 17°C.
Maximum 45°C.
No rain.
Sunny day. Late smoke.

@vwdasher important to say 'allegedly' so as not to prejudice the dog's day in court

There are kids today that only know the Crazy Frog version of Axel F. Please, parents, educate them.

Never seen one of these before - it's a very small and cute EV. (About the size of an Ignis)

Ladies, if your man:

- is related to australian white ibis
- is related to bird
- can be called ibis in Polish
- is a bird
- is an animal

He's not your man. He's an ibis.

@neoluddite @s0 @futzle @jpm @ThermiteBeGiants to be honest you could probably do a small version of that now by going to BCF!

Anything out of sight of regulators can get a bit hairy tho

@neoluddite @s0 @futzle @jpm @ThermiteBeGiants agreed. This then tempers the idea that this might be a good thing for renters...

(I appreciate the conversation)

@neoluddite @s0 @futzle @jpm @ThermiteBeGiants To be clear I'm thinking about 'people' rather than 'me' (who has an engineering degree and lots of experience)

Old apartments already have very few GPOs (so they are using lots of powerboards and extension cords already) and existing wiring weirdness, plus most people don't understand electricity in the most basic terms

@neoluddite @s0 @futzle @jpm @ThermiteBeGiants true!

If you connected one at my flat it would potentially involve a power board, extension cord... so yeah it'd have to preclude that situation

@s0 @neoluddite @futzle @jpm @ThermiteBeGiants perhaps the issue is potentially too-small wire sizing at the GPO where it's plugged in (and between there and the circuit breaker), as well as old wiring and nibbling rats etc.

@futzle @s0 @jpm @ThermiteBeGiants gosh yes.

This article has a good breakdown of the issue, but I don't think it covers everything
