Michael Jackson’s Thriller, still played constantly and with the full dynamic range, unlike the terrible Thriller 40 release. Sticker suggests it’s from 82 or 83. Think it’s an early copy as the lyrics have an extra verse for Lady In My Life before they shortened the album. And a whole load of E&OE for Billie Jean, with no mention of David Williams on guitar, only Dean Parks. Anyway, I wonder if it’ll last another 40 years! No mention of MJJ as co-producer, either! #thriller #michaeljackson

My copy of Joni Mitchell’s Mingus from 1979, a collaboration between Joni and Charles Mingus. Beautiful artwork. Mingus himself died at the age of 56 during the recording and three of his six compositions made it on with Joni’s lyrics. Great to revisit this cover again without any barcodes pasted on. #jonimitchell
