@igb maybe the 16 is better but I think they should adjust the software to take better moon pics. Should be easily recognisable and easy enough to adjust the exposure for part of the photo?

@simon do you think it picked up on the ā€œai assistantā€ direction or the title and copy?

@benward got a signed welcome letter from him

@yatil @jensimmons I always assumed it was the a11y tooling that made things difficult and so led to the advice against. Perhaps I am wrong on that. While I’m sure there are many places it can be a bad experience I think there are also many common experiences where it is not, so the guidance should allow for that context. Anyway, it is not really CSS-related - i apologise for the diversion.

2024-07-06

@yatil @jensimmons yes! I would like a11y tools to be able to handle it, because we do it all the time anyway. Can’t speak for threads, but I know web tweets are clickable elements with buttons in. It’s a very common need.

2024-07-05

@jensimmons I know it’s not really css, but I’d love to nest a button in a button without being shouted at by linters.

2024-06-23

@jensimmons multi-line ellipsis is still a workaround with odd side-effects. Letter-spacing extends beyond the end of a word, causing early wrapping. Generally, more knowledge and control of lines and wrapping would be helpful.

@igb we have new scanners in Walnut Creek, but they’re a good half-second slower than the old ones, so prepare to grit your teeth harder as they roll out.

@kaoudis
I’m a fan of the Waymos, but don’t really trust the others. I trust humans least of all.

To be fair, in SF some of the cars don’t have any people in them at all.

@simon Hulu? Oh, no. I don’t Hulu. šŸ˜”

@simon is it good?

2024-03-06

@divya omg so much. Our touch controls are in front middle, so every time you move a pan or put down a tray, it beeps something on.

@simon They thought it out early. I once considered updating twitter’s paths, from /profile/status/id to /@profile/tweet/id. It would’ve solved a lot of problems in time. My concern with the change wasn’t stale links, but stale parsers. Lots of extensions and tools assume they can parse tweet urls.

@phae these are really good

2024-01-17

@davatron5000 Ah, I think it’s there but I struggle to see it. My eyes aren’t that good any more.

@davatron5000 should this be wobbly? (Ios17)

@sangster I’ve been watching Hobbit (EE) with the boys for the first time and it’s good but really _really_ long. I liked how LOTR EE was more like the books than non-EE, but I doubt I could ever watch it all through again.

@kaoudis TIL. I sometimes make eggs by covering but never thought to add water.
