@bjhess You can get an Aeron from used office furniture places or eBay for a couple hundred bucks - 100% worth it.
Aspiring social capitalist and web developer living in Savannah, GA. I love #blaseball, #baking and #goodtrouble.

Free speech for me but not for thee.
Finally watching Nope and, no spoilers, but damn, Michael Wincott’s voice is so great. It’s good to see him growling through the scenery again.
I wish there was a Robokiller for macOS, or it could intercept messages before they end up on my laptop.
@torgo I don’t think that counts. It’s better than only posting on Facebook or Twitter. And, it’ll be easier to move somewhere later thanks to their export tools.
You can’t lose if no one else knows they’re playing.
I’m trying to read more books and do less doom scrolling. I put the Kindle app on my phone front-and-center and I have to say, it’s working! I almost finished a book this weekend and I find myself checking social things way less often.
@torgo You got this!! (well, you’ve already started, so, how’d it go?)
@koalie thank you! It’s weird because I left full time two years ago and am on my second job since leaving, but, I felt like I had to be there to say good bye and make sure it went smoothly.
Today I shut down a site I gave my blood sweat and tears for for almost six years. Even though it’s not a super happy day, I’m glad the team did it on their own terms, and that everything is preserved in case someone wants to keep going with it. A well-done shutdown is something to be proud of.
@allaboutgeorge I think it’ll be more formative experiences and how I cope with / handle situations. Also, “startup life milestones” like getting laid off, laying people off, shutting down a company, etc.
I’ve been working pretty much nonstop and it wasn’t until trying to explain how I think about work to my manager that I realized… I might be a huge weirdo. So, I’m going to try to start documenting all my personal work strategies and rules on my blog and then y’all can tell me how big a weirdo I am. And then maybe it’ll turn into a book.
I know I’m a couple seasons late, but For All Mankind is really good.
Off work sick with COVID and watching Top Gear. I have to say, I really like the current hosts. They’ve captured the childlike enthusiasm/lunacy of the classic iteration without the problematic Clarkson or Hammond.
Success! She’s well on her way to distraction-free writing (or the attempt at least).
Oh the fun we have… helping my daughter get an old Acer Cloudbook set up with Ubuntu Mate so she can have a “distraction free” word processor. This is attempt number three… first time, boot drive didn’t work. Second, she forgot what password she used. Fingers crossed for this time. 🤞🏻
I wrote a thing. I’m a single issue voter now, and you should be too. That issue is bodily autonomy: https://lawver.net/2022/06/im-a-single-issue-voter-now/
Together, there’s nothing we can’t ruin.
I had a meeting today with a fellow bald bearded guy and had an epiphany so profound, I stopped the meeting to share it: bearded and bald is just a backwards mullet.
