@fortyseven that's a young age to die at :(( too soon...

Just finished #BuffyTheVampireSlayer. Even though the very last episodes wasn't exactly how I envisioned it -- it's been the 'most' consistently good TV show I've seen, to date.

Every new season had something new to offer to make sure the concept didn't get old (with season 5 probably being my favorite). If you're slightly into #fantasy , and like a quippy TV show that doesn't take itself too serious, then you should give it a watch!

@mosgaard hvordan ville du så formulere det. "Offentlige 10. Klasse tilbud afskaffes" måske?

@thegeekster The one I started with is called The Stone Rose, I think it might be an audio book actually, but I really enjoyed it! #tenthdoctor (and it's read by Tennant himself)

Of the "short trips" series, I really enjoyed Free Speech with Tennant (though I don't think it's with Rose), and The World Tree with Matt

It takes a little getting used to, as it kind of feels like a childrens audio book with the overenthusiastic acting to compensate for no visual, but I'm really enjoying them now

More series 1! It's happening! Holy shit!

#DoctorWho

The cover art for Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor Adventures from Big Finish, the 4th series they've produced in the range. Depicted are Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, in front of a spacey pink backdrop. The logo is the new, current Doctor Who logo (the non-diamond version of it)

@thegeekster Eccleston was so underrated as the doctor, and Rose is a thoroughly amazing companion. Can't wait to see what they come up with, and when in the timeline the stories will take place

@itsfoss Favorite Unix Distro?

2024-12-27

@turb I guess that makes good sense actually, I will bear that in mind

2024-12-27

@maxitb I've written much more csharp than scala, the past 5 or so years. I agree that code with a null reference exception is bad code. Also, I remember being part of the nullable reference type hype train, but then it finally arrived and it just turned out to be an analyzer integrated in the language

I love C#, but building up a language around the concept of null from the beginning is bound to turn out bad. C# still doesn't have optionals provided by stdlib, which then still encourages the use of null.

Also the analyzer can't detect null in collections like array:/

2024-12-27

@turb ohh, so that's what that's used for! Thanks

2024-12-27

@turb do you know of any tips or ideas to use to not make use of vals in classes, because this is exactly where I encountered it:( I managed to achieve it with only about 5 vals, a call to a val below was hidden inside a method invocation

2024-12-26

I just had to sort out a null reference exception in #scala, I didn't think this was even possible. Having to figure out a null reference was just as big a pain as I remember from #csharp :(
