@historiogiraffe As a boss who employs undergrad interns, here are my 2 cents: we want to know why you want this internship in particular. When I get letters that don't even reference anything about our mission or work (essentially, letters where the applicant just swaps out one company name for the next), I get grumpy. Similarly: tell me why you care about that work or mission. I don't need experience, but I do want demonstrable interest and maybe even passion.

@nimirea I love that book! It didn't break me of my pathological inability to ask for things, but that's not Amanda's fault.
